Re: Poll: What is your preferred stainless steel for EDC?

Of those three... 204Pp better edge retention but harder to sharpen. CPM S30V = CTS XHP for all intents and purposes. Of course S110v is the new darling out there. All three of my 110s remain sharp so I haven't had to expirence sharping it. (Spyderco's edge on the 110 knives was so sharp out of the ...

Ok then, this rookie would like to know which steel would be an upgrade from S30V. Heh I have no complaints about S30V. I can get it extremely sharp with either my Sharp Maker or my Wicked Edge. I just wanted to see the Sage line up get some renewed attention. I just love my Sage 1. It was my first ...

How about a Sage 1 or 2 with CTS-XHP or maybe CTS-204p blade, what say you?

I just sharpened up my Sage 1 and I thought, they upgraded the Chaperral with CTS-XHP why not the Sage? I would buy a copy in a minute. In fact I would get both the Sage 1 and a Sage 2 with the new steel!*

Would any one else want a Sage "X" in a new steel?

Radioactivespyder, you have hit on something i have started do. I carry my Dragonfly Super Blue and my Para 2. Now that is no ordinary PM2. This is a PM2 that you inspired me to put together. One time you posted a picture of your Para 2 in carbon fiber. I think you took a production S30V and dressed...

There are 7 black on black PM2 at Amazon right now. Not the lowest price but less the Flea Bay.
BBS has Elmax PM2 available for a lot less than the predators on Flea Bay are asking, a lot less.
So yes the demand is high but these little gems can be found.

Cliff I have heard that some companies harden the titanium face that contacts the blade tang. Does this really reduce the the wear of the titanium prolonging the life of those frame lock knives? I sit in front of the TV and flick open my knives a lot. (My wife hates it and insists I go to therapy fo...

I know what you mean. Although for me, I am more afraid of loosing the sprite run version than it getting scratches. I have never had the luck of getting a sprint run directly from the venders. I wind up paying the aftermarket price. With that in mind my sprints tend to stay at hone in their pouches...

I got my Superblue Dragonfly yesterday and I love it. This has got to be the sharpest knife I have evered owned! My copy is came sharper than my SB Delica. Be careful with this blade. You may have heard the expression "cuts like an industrial laser". Well in this case that is no boast just...

That an interesting point. I'll have to look at the two knives to compare. I'm hoping someone can weigh the two to see, and let me know. (I hoping I'm not going crazy too!) I would think there isn't enough difference in the contents of those two alloys to make a perceivable difference (which would m...

I think Spyderco has done a superb job colaborating with Sylsz and producing the Techno. This knife is one of the finest knives manufactured. IMHO running will cause your upper thigh to push up the knife in that watch pocket. Eventually the knife will be nudged out and fall. This is in no way a desi...

Given a Paramilitary 2 blade: is CPM S30V lighter than CTS 204p?

I was holding my new green Para 2 and thought it seemed heavier than my satin black CPM S30V. I believe all the parts on these two knives are basically the same except the blade steel, right? I know it cost more and the CTS 204p is supose to be a "better" steel. Is the CTS 204p more dense ...

I have purchased from Knife Hog and the service was great. Some of their product prices are the lowest around. I got a Techno for around $150. They beat everyone else with that price. I find my Techno is a really great knife. A bit small but built like a ... tank! This is my first knife with CTS XHP...
