Will the PM2 Tanto become a regular production model (please)?
Hi together, though I search a lot for a PM2 Tanto, I am not able to find it. Here in Austria (Europe) there were no Sprint Runs available. That model would be the ideal EDC and working folder with relatively light weight. I love Spyderco as a company and also their products, but for me it is hard t...

Re: Thank You Spyderco
I recently stated my miscontent about steels used recently in the "Trends you do not understand" Thread.
That reveal is *EDITED* ridiculous. So many rational models. You are driving us poor🥲
Thank you for listening to your customers. Best knife company ever. Period.

Re: Knife trends you just don't understand?
You could also use dirty rope and will notice that the high numbers of cuts through clean rope will not be achieved anymore and the number of cuts made by lower end steels will be nearer to the high end steels. That I meant when I said that cutting clean rope is not real world use/testing. Grindabil...

Re: Knife trends you just don't understand?
Cedric and Ada, one of favorite YT channels, uses a rope cutting test to show the difference in knife steel's. Of course we cannot forget about factors like geometry, heat treatment, etc, but overall knife steel can make a great difference. Hi, I am very aware of his and other channels and apprecia...

Re: Knife trends you just don't understand?
I'd be all about some 440C spydies, especially if it meant saving 15-20% vs S30V models. I enjoy steels like that, which is one reason I'm excited about the Chief LW in BD1N. I feel you. I bet a lot of the people can't sharpen/use these high end super alloys to achieve extended potential. This is n...

Re: Knife trends you just don't understand?
I don't get why almost every production knife nowadays has to be done with high end alloys as blade steel. Sure, it sounds cool, may have slight performance advantage when heat treated + sharpened + used correctly in comparison to a low alloy steel, or something like N690. Most companies use high en...

Re: Knife I chose for my Wedding
Thanks for your very kind words (especially for the Drew Carey comparison...😉). The 15V Shaman would be a good choice for the umbilical cord, because I sharpen for toothy edges, 15V likes that and I do like that too. We will see, but chances are high haha. Me and my better halves (wife and knife) ha...

Knife I chose for my Wedding
Hi Spyderco People, I just wanted to share which knife I chose for my wedding last saturday. It matched my suit perfectly and showed also my type of personal character. I was proud to wear it and got a lot of compliments for the matching colors ☺️ Spyderco, thank you for making great knives and list...

Re: 15V Shaman Washers
Thank you so much.
I took it apart, it really was an illusion...
So, now I really can not find anything which is not well executed. What a top notch fit and finish. What a beast of a knife.
Have a great day.

Re: 15V Shaman Washers
Thanks for the answers. I highly doubt that it could be fake. Reputated dealer, everything feels like a real Shaman. I paid 390€. There is absolutely no wobble or blade play. I just find it to be strange. Maybe they had to do it to eliminate horizontal blade play due to a too thick backspacer or som...

15V Shaman Washers
Hi together,
I was able to pick that one up, extremely happy. It is executed very well.
I noticed that there are two washers on each side. Is that normal?

Re: Weird blade grind/plunge line observation
A lot of industrial made knives are ground with special designed machines made exclusively for that application, where the primary grind is done by a big grinding ring on the face surface. The blade is ground on the one side first and on the other side next. There are grinding wheels exclusively des...

Re: Extra Fine Diamond Rods
Hello, thanks for the answeres. I think the Webfoot would be a great outdoors tool or something for quick and fairly rough touch ups. As I already mentioned, I glued two extra fine (1200#) Eze Lap plates onto old SM rods, to fit the system. It works, but that is not a professional solution. In my op...

Extra Fine Diamond Rods
Hello all, I wondered why Spyderco does not offer extra fine diamond rods (lets say 1200 grit). I found that when I microbevel knife edges, you can not beat sharpness/agression ratio. I sharpened thousands of knives that way, there is nothing better (at least for me). The medium ceramic rods from th...

Re: Keep or Return? Manix 2 G10 S30V
Thank you so much for the replies and opinions. I just checked the blade play again and unfortunately there developed quite a big amount of horizontal play. It can not be fixed, the bushing measurements do not allow that. I am quite disappointet at that moment. I had an all black Manix 2 G10 which I...

Keep or Return? Manix 2 G10 S30V
Hello together, I wanted to ask you about your opinions. I just recieved my new Manix 2. Blade centering is perfect. No bladeplay but absolute drop falling action when releasing the lock. So that is great. What I do not find so great is that the edge bevels are not the same size (different angles) a...
