Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

It's been a while since I've posted anything...but lately it's been my orange peel titanium Gayle Bradley. I still slightly prefer CruWear to M4 though...and my SuperBlue Ladybug still lives on the keychain for my ZR2, and my grey G-10 Jester still lives on the keychain for my 350Z, so one of those ...

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

Tested out my new Police4 at work today for the first time...the platform is excellent thus far for use on a construction site with and without gloves. I'll need at least a few weeks to evaluate the steel though. It'll have a hard time dethroning CruWear for my uses and I don't see my CruWear Millie...

Re: RN or CF Chaparral?

I'd ask your dealer to send you pictures of the RF Chaps in their inventory. It looks awesome, especially if you get a good one. I had a CF Chap (I ended up trading it for another Spydie) and the texture is a little grippier, but I think the ergonomics are more than enough to allow for enough purcha...

Zombie thread alert (More than 3 years old at this point)...not sure if that qualifies as full zombie or not, but I thought I'd point it out as people are now responding to it the same way as if it were fresh.

Re: Maxamet toughness

It's definitely tougher and less chip prone than ZDP-189. I find it less chip prone than M4 as well.

Re: Becoming a blade junkie...

I started out as a user and am now a bit of a user and a collector. I have a few knives, like my Kris for example, that are way too rare and awesome to actually use for anything but are super cool to own and fondle occasionally. Also I can't imagine trying to properly sharpen that one if I did use i...

Re: How good is maxamet steel for edc?

I loaned my Maxamet M2 to the manager of my local B&M because he's better than I am at sharpening and he has a taste for more expensive knives than I do, but is still a strong Spyderco fan (And I value his inputs as he's tried a lot more things that I have). He was absolutely flabbergasted at th...

Re: Maxamet toughness

I've been pleasantly surprised with the toughness of Maxamet (I wasn't expecting much from a high carbide steel in the ~70 Hrc range regarding toughness). I recently was cutting some heavy duty zip ties and when the knife broke through them it slapped edge first against a fence chain...this happened...

Re: How good is maxamet steel for edc?

I've had my Maxamet Manix 2 since they dropped...had it pre-ordered actually. I've seen lots of requests for feedback regarding it, but I haven't really had all that much to say for a number of reasons. I've used it quite extensively since I got it, but it didn't need to be sharpened yet so I held b...

Thanks man...it's a fun car. Lots of cubbie holes to stash various Spydies in. Now I just need to remember where I stashed my unused Spyderco stickers so I can get one on the back window.

Your Parisienne is very close to one of my other cars (My 64 Impala)...scroll back through this thread and it should be in a post already so I won't repost it for the sake of clutter.

Edit: Near the top of page 2.

A few of them are projects with not much money invested just yet...it's more about the space than the coin, but I have the space, so why not?

Re: School me on Cru-Wear

It's tougher than the stainless steels like S30V, M390, S90/S110V etc. It's more wear resistant than the tough steels S7, L6, 5160 on up through A2 to about 3V. It's between D2 and S30V in wear resistance but tougher than either. It is less corrosion resistant than the stainless steels but more cor...

Re: Show your knife and your ride!

I seem to have the same problem with vehicles that I do with Spydercos...the problem being that I accrue more of them than most people understand. I don't see it as a problem though...more options for entertainment and experience. This is vehicle number 6 currently, but I'll be selling one in the ne...
