Eric...The tone here stems from the fact that so many other companies make knives that don't cut very well due to overthick edge geometry, paint them black, talk about how they're used by Special Forces for "stealthy deanimation," label them "tactical" and then sell them to mall ...

The burr is just to let you know that you've apexed the edge. You can do the same thing if you pay attention to scratch patterns and are checking obsessively with a jewelers loupe. Once the scratch pattern is uniform across the entire edge, you've apexed it. Doing this, as I understand it, you'll st...

Spyderco's website is really bad, especially when trying to register a new knife purchase. To register I need to sign in. Good, I understand that and I registered. Now when I try to sign in to register my purchase (yesterday at the Golden store) I get the warning that my email and password does not...

I get the idea that most survivalists and preppers really don't know what they're talking about. These knives are good for abuse, but they're using AUS-4 which is a pretty low end steel. It'll take an edge, but it won't hold it very long in comparison to even 8crMoV13 (I think I got that right). You...

I didn't purchase mine until after 11 mountain time, and I had no issues whatsoever with the website. It was messed up for a bit, but after the initial fervor died down, there didn't seem to be any problems.

REX 121! I hope this ends up being a possibility, even though I'm hearing it's damned near impossible to work with. The same was said about K390 though, and look at what happened with that. I'd also be pretty thrilled with 15V. What do you guys think are the possibilities of either of these steels h...

Those Ebay flippers are NOT going to be happy. I must admit to feeling a little bit of schadenfreude.

I have the ZDP Endura with the Saber Grind and, while it's an excellent knife in a pretty great steel, I must admit I'm not a big fan of the Saber Grind. Having purchased several Spydercos with FFG's, I'd can't recommend them enough. The FFG makes for a really great slicer. I've never seen an Endura...

I saw that. Looks like that person bought one of the Mules too and is flipping it for twice what they paid. Gotta love flippers.

Way back in 99 or 2000, I lent my first Spyderco knife (and first decent knife in general) to a guy to look at. It was a first generation Gin-1 Native. Not three seconds after I gave it to him did he attempt a Spydie drop which resulted in my Native being flung into the air and landing tip first on ...
