Re: Airguns

I have an air rifle that I use for pest control (mostly pigeons, who seem to have decided to build nests under the eaves of our house, just outside our bedroom window). Looking at the markings, I see that it is a Gamo Whisper Fusion, but I honestly have no idea if that's any good or not. I ended up ...

Re: Climbing

Question: Your setup shows a fixed static rope with jumars... but the important (and fun) part: At first you have to climb that tree in order to "set up the set up" - and since you then have climbed it anyway, why "set up the set up"? Probably just because it is also fun to ascent the fixed rope wi...

Re: Climbing

I used to have a 'Sport Climbing is Neither' bumper sticker on my truck. I also had one in the black and white style of the old 'Got Milk?' ads, that read 'Got Pro?' I did a fair amount of aid back in the 90s, and if it's not climbing, I'm not sure what it is. But it's certainly some of the scariest...

Re: Poll What’s your Mule future

I was thinking it might actually do the program good to have one that sits around for a while. It would help with some of the instant sell-out to flippers.

Aid climbing... isn't.
I believe the phrase you're looking for is 'Sport Climbing is Neither.' ;)

Re: DLC coated Mule, would you be interested?

I could see offering the 'kit knife' mule in Spy 27 in variants, like SE, CE, DLC, etc. I don't really think that offering DLC adds much to the Mule Team project overall though. I've looked into having Mules coated, and it's expensive , but not prohibitively so if you are making a long term user kn...

Re: Tool Steel Regular Production Folder Option

Regular production CruWear would probably sell pretty well. Not sure if regular production M4 would have the same splash. K390 would, though, if it didn't raise the price too much when compared to 10v. And it would have the advantage of consistent branding (being the same as the Seki K390 models).

Re: Covid-19 vaccination starting (UK)

You don't really have to trust anything other than the vaccine to stop wearing a mask. If you're fully vaccinated, your risk from Covid is lower than your risk from influenza in terms of both chance of catching it and chance of dying from it (per the CDC numbers).

I'd definitely try to get the Mule in this material.

I'll be very interested to see what the Catra numbers are like, if Sal can share them with us.

for home, we have a berkey filter. it works well, but you have to remember to refill it every night. it can take a while for it to filter. Ah, you have the "Vampire version" Mine works during daylight as well... haha... no one else in my house will refill it, so it's become my job to check i...

Re: Mule Team Subscription maybe?

But what does one do if there is a subscription, and then you do not make it on the subscription list? If the subscription is done before the materials are purchased (so 2+ years in advance, I'd bet) there is no need to limit the subscription list. Spyderco could just buy more materials to meet all...

Re: I really want to pick up a serrated K390 model when they drop: Endura or Endela?

If you like the Endura, go with it. Personally, I prefer 50/50 choils, so my go-to for that role is the Police. For the smaller size, I like the Stretch better than the Endela. The only Choil-less Spyderco knives that I like ergonomically are the wharnies (Jazzlica and Rockjumper are my favorite no-...

Re: Benchmade Bugout Custom Configurations

I think that Sal said Spyderco investigated it and decided it didn't make financial sense.

I think there is room for someone(s) to create a Spyderco 'mod shop' and take custom orders. In some ways, KnivesWeLove on eBay already does that.

Re: Covid-19 vaccination starting (UK)

It still amazes me that some people think they know more about viruses and vaccines than our best doctors and scientists do. People like that are more dangerous than the actual virus. Curiously, I've had long conversations with both a physician and a biology professor, and both were firm in telling...

Re: Mule Team Subscription maybe?

What about putting down a deposit ahead of time? If you were in, maybe you could order yours the day before it was open to the rest of the public. Maybe it would be a pain and extra work to deal with. Just putting it out there. It would certainly be extra work for Spyderco to deal with it that way....
