Re: St Nicks Knives Exclusive 4V Shaman - Available 9/19/19

This is disappointing. Probably not caring about exclusives and sprints much anymore. I'll stick to production models. This is all my feelings too. Totally with you. I wish I'd been able to get to this one in time, but I was too busy at work to sit on the computer at exactly the right time. But goo...

What if you made a version for use in the jungle and called it "A-wimoweh"'?

Re: Rusty Waterway - Your Thoughts

You could name it for a different terrain type. For example, a 4v version could be a "woodsway" and an m4 version could be a "desertway" or something along those lines. You could do a "cityway" or "townway", a "bushway"...

Re: Manix v Manix XL v PM2

The action isn't as easy to close as other knives, but once the lock breaks in it does get better. Personally I don't like the jimping on the handle and wish Spyderco would do away with it. That's just a practice issue, I think. I EDC the Manix a lot more than the PM2 and I find the CBBL easier to ...

Re: Sheath adapters for spydie fixed blades?

Could you just have a new sheath made? I prefer horizontal carry in a taco sheath for EDC, and I've had quite a few good kydex sheaths made for my fixed blades. Looking online I see some pretty pricey leather sheaths, but my recently retired and missed local leather repair guy made me several really...

Re: Rusty Waterway - Your Thoughts

I'd be interested in any 4v fixed blade. I think I'd prefer one of the Phil Wilson designs, but I'd buy a waterway too.

Re: Manix v Manix XL v PM2

So I would probably get one in S30v. Would you recommend dlc coating or no dlc? I prefer uncoated stainless. I only go for DLC on my non-stainless knives. Don't discount BD1n, if you're willing to go lightweight. With the 'n' upgrade, that knife packs a lot of value. The s110v lightweight is also a...

Re: Manix v Manix XL v PM2

I love the Manix 2. Do you like the 50/50 choil? Your Endure doesn't have it, and all the knives you are considering do have it. I'm just wondering if the ergonomics work better for you one way or the other. One advantage of the Manix 2 in your situation is that you could get it in FRCP, and either ...

Re: Upcoming Tenacious Lightweight

The description says full skeletonized liners and the map price is $42.25. I am looking forward to this model. At that price, I predict that this will be a home run for Spyderco. I'm looking forward to seeing the entire budget line get the LW treatment. And in my wildest dreams, get upgraded to BD1...

Re: Police 4 LW

Is the Police considered to be part of the "Endura Family"? I'm wondering if we'll see it in ZDP, in the lightweight. It would be crazy and amazing to have both ZDP and K390 as options, and I'd definitely buy both, because I love the P4 ergonomics, and K390, and I pretty much only buy the Seki model...

Re: Problem sharpening a Mannix 154CM

I had really bade luck with my 154cm Manix. It seemed to form a burr almost instantly, and the burr just kept flopping from one side to another. That was quite a while back in my sharpening skill progression, but it was extremely frustrating. I had some success using another knife (I used a PM2) to ...

I've been going through all my contacts trying to find someone near their store. I think this one will be a lot more popular than the lil native run.

They pretty much stated a pm2 run is incoming in their Instagram comments too.
They need to do a Manix and a Manix XL.

Re: Zdp-189 myths and truths

I'm a ZDP fan. ZDP Dragonfly is on my all time top 5 list, and likely to stay there. I feel like it's been obscured by the latest "super steel of the month" lately, but I have no complaints about it and a lot of love for it.

Re: Damascus Chaparral

I'd love to see an upscale Damasteel Chap, with some kind of upscale handles. I'd honestly love to see the Chap sprinted in different steels, but I don't know that it would fit with the intent of the knife. I do know that Sal once said he'd consider sprinting the LW version in different variants, bu...

Re: Hap40 vs zdp189 vs k390

As a Police 4 owner, I basically never use my Enduras any more. I find that the (for me) the Police is pretty much better in every way. Between ZDP and HAP 40 I'd pick ZDP, but those are both steels I use in smaller, slicing platforms. In a larger platform I might lean more toward HAP40? Not totally...

I really wish there was a Delica wharnie ZDP 189. That’s what I’d suggest then.
That'd be a beast of a cutter. The HAP40 Wharncliffe Delica is one of my all time favourites for warehouse type work.
HAP40 Wharnie is my favorite Delica, but I'd rather have it in ZDP. :)

Definitely in. The Wharnie is the only Delica I ever carry at this point. ZDP is my favorite steel for the Seki models. Match made in heaven, for sure.

Re: Delica or Endura ZDP-189?

I own both. I'd keep the Delica. ZDP really shines for small, precise blades (like the Delica). I love it in the Dragonfly, for example, but my ZDP endura is basically just sitting in a drawer.
