I think the Chap LW for me.
I was going to say that, but then decided it wasn't really a hidden gem. More of just a gem.

Re: custom scales interest

Have a look at the "3D" scales on a bradford guardian. They do a good job of enhancing grip and comfort without getting too out of control with the shaping. I've actually been thinking of asking Cuscadi to replicate the same kind of feel in a Manix 2 scale.

Re: Spyderco's Upcoming New Folder? Stretch Lc200N with FRN Navy Blue Scales?

I'd like to see the LC200N done as "salt" models, with the standard salt yellow color.

Re: Does anyone else wish for a standard scale color other than black?

I like black as standard. It leaves open room to make special colors to designate upgraded steel, salt models, and sprint runs.

Re: BHQ Manix in M390

I loves me some M390. And the Manix 2.

I've got the 20cv exclusive, so I probably won't be sitting at the keyboard waiting for this drop, but I'm definitely tempted and if they're around for more than a few hours I'll probably end up with one.

Re: PC Immersion Cooling

Or buy a Mac and only ever hear the fan kick in once every blue moon :) Depends on what you do with it. I'm a big mac fan (I've owned apples since the early 80's and only went to a PC twice during that time, always coming back to apple), but I definitely get my Macs hot every now and then. Video re...

Re: custom scales interest

I think it's fair to gauge interest, but that's really a question for Kristi to decide (whether this is ok by the forum rules).

I'd definitely be interested in nice 3d contoured scales for a manix, in either g-10 or micarta.

Re: Mule Team

At this point I would just say use the Para 3 LW as a new folding mule for any new steels. I'd like that personally, but the UKPK would make it more accessible to a wider range of people. A member in Europe might be very interested in trying out the new "mule" steels, but they can't really EDC them...

Re: Leatherman's new Magnetic Closing and Opening Tools: Very clever design.

Are those available now?

I was looking at them when they announced them, but hadn't gotten back to see if they had actually started selling them.

Is there going to be one without a knife? Or with a removable knife? I need a good multi-tool for travel.

Re: Where is the love for the Manix XL??

I'd like a Manix XL using a DLC K390 blade with DLC liners & hardware, and OD green G10. I'd definitely be into the XL in K390. I'd love DLC on it, too, but I have zero preference on the G-10. ;) Cruwear would be a good choice for it too. It would also be interesting to see it in either 3v or 4v, a...

Re: Where's the 3V?

A person could make the same arguments for 154CM that have been offered for 3V. And the same answers would come along. Yes, 154CM can make a good folder (I know, I have some), but there are simply better alternatives, so why do it? You could play the same game and talk about any number of other ste...

Re: Removing Patina from K390 (Urban)

I always just let patina come naturally. I feel like it's more "authentic" that way. Since it develops gradually, I often don't notice it until I actually pull out the blade and sit it next to a stainless one. Then it's like "oh, wait, I ended up with patina..."
