Sal, I would love to see an Emerson Opener Cara Cara 2 or Meadowlark 2. Not sure how feasible it would be on budget folders but how about a red handled model called the Cardinal or a deep green called the Mallard? I would also suggest one that's a small slipit like the Squeak? (Sparrow, maybe)

Like someone said before, I need a Spy DK yesterday. I always EDC either a Pingo or UKPK so I would LOVE a mashup of the two. I might bite for the Kiwi4 since it has a clip and that's all that kept me from buying one earlier. I'm very interested in the Power Lock but I definitely cannot see myself c...

I would recommend either the Meadowlark 2 or Cara Cara 2 as they are the equivalent of the two Spydercos that are most popular. I have a Tern and love it but you may not be a slipjoint fan. I had a bad experience with the Flight's edges being sharp and jabbing my hand when I reached into my pocket b...

My local B&M usually does around 30% of MSRP, sometimes a bit higher depending on the blade. He also does phone orders and online sales, which might be why it's still around. The guy behind the counter pretty much hates me because I browsed in there all the time and have bought a total of 6 kniv...

I would reccomend the Caly as well. The good old standby Endura in G-10 may fit your bill as well and would be under your price range as well. Welcome to the forums, we always welcome new addicts. :)

The only Byrd I ever have had an issue with in regards to F&F was the Byrd Flight. The edges on the pivot end of the slabs were not very well smoothed so it tore up my hand a bit when I reached into my pocket. My Cara Cara 2 and Meadowlark 2 are perfectly acceptable tools with no F&F issues ...

First time I tried my zip tie modded Cara Cara 2, I had my hand in the wrong position and sliced a nice slit across the top of my pinkie. I also sliced the tip of my thumb at work because I was an idiot and cut towards myself with my Squeak while cutting the tape off a new roll of receipt paper. No ...

I owned a Cara Cara 2 previously and loved it so I knew what to expect. I really love it, it has been in my EDC since Tuesday. I have used it at work to cut tape, zip ties and canvas and it still has a very usable edge. My biggest complaint is that the edges of the lock bar weren't filed down very w...

Getting my Meadowlark 2 today

It's going to be a long morning waiting for the Fedex delivery to bring the newest addition to my family: a FRN Meadowlark 2 PE. I am so excited about getting it. My only regret is that I'm afraid I should have bought the G10 version haha.

I wish I had taken a pic of the box because it definitely had an HK on it and looking down at the spring, it is split when the blade is closed and the two pieces are pushed together when you start to open it. I got it at a local cutlery shop if that matters.

That's true. Either way, the knife rules and I will be EDCing it as much as humanly possible. So glad I bought it, Sal is the man!

I played with it a little and now the spring is stiffer when it's fully opened. However, the half stop is still barely there in comparison. I don't fear it cutting me during closing but it's curious that it's stiffer fully open than half stopped.

What is the two letter date code on the box? When closed, looking at the face of the spring, do you see a line/split in it? In the middle of the right side of the label (which is yellow, don't know if that matters), it says HK. The bottom right corner has TA02. It does have a split on the spring wh...

I'm pretty sure its FRN, it's light as **** although the texture is rough like G10. I don't mind it, I was just surprised since my Squeak is FRN and it's stiffer.

Just Bought a UKPK and I have a question

I just purchased a C94PSBK3 at my local cutlery shoppe. I noticed that the backspring isn't as stiff as my Squeak was. Both were NIB. Is this normal or did I get a bad one? It's not so loose that it won't stay open, it's just easier to close as the half stop isn't as prominent. Either way, I am very...

Same it is every day with a slight modification due to location: Squeak clipped to front right pocket, Delica 4 in back right unclipped due to local carry laws

The problem is that people stop listening at "slipjoint" because they don't know what that means  Yes, story of my life. I then started saying it was non-locking and had one person tell me that "that knife is unsafe and you should throw it out before someone calls the polic...
