I believe it would be possible to forge a handgun out of H1 steel, but the cost would probably not be justified if the intent is simply to prevent rust. In the firearms industry, most manufacturers will simply design a gun to withstand the elements of water and dirt around using polymer material. A ...

Any news on this? I have some family in Texas that I visit often while on business there, would love to carry automatics with me during my time in Dallas & Houston.

I have lived in inner cities for most of my life, and have never felt the need to own a gun, and only use my knives for utility. Situational awareness and knowing how to avoid trouble have gotten me much further. If you do not look like you have something someone would want, and you mind your own b...

I'd rather be judged by twelve than carried by six.

Exactly. All you people that claim a gun is all you need - do you carry when you put out the trash? How about "just running to the store"? While watching tv? Does your job allow you to carry a gun? Doubt it. Fact is if you don't carry 24/7 you can't rely on just a gun. My answer is yes; I...

You're better off with: running away, a gun, a stick (in that order). Absolutely, a safe escape is always the best choice for surviving unscathed. This is also assuming you are either alone in being assaulted or you are willing to risk the loved ones you might be with by betting on the fact they ca...

I am of the opinion that if you don't know how to fight with a knife then using a blade in a self-defense scenario is a good way to get yourself stabbed with your own weapon. The chances of you being assaulted by someone formally trained in knife fighting or skilled in the disarming of blades is ra...

I find comparisons of other countries with the US are difficult to make since few are as big in size. You will also typically find a more homogenous culture in a peaceful country. The diversity and melting pot of clashing cultures and ideas spanning across the North American continent creates a dang...

I recently switched to the fixed blade Lum tanto as my EDC blade for self defense. While I EDC a SIG P238 in addition to my Lum, I have the fixed blade as an option for self defense against unarmed assaults (usually by thugs in groups where power is felt in numbers). The firearm comes into play if t...

Haha, the office itself is not hostile but the down town area it is located in is full of homeless crackheads and prostitutes that fill the sidewalks and under bridges. We do have a security guard 24/7 and a gated office building, but if my work doesn't prohibit weapons then I choose to carry anyway...

Hey... Sorry for the late response :o . Yes, that's a Jericho 941 double action pistol with a SS barrel and polygonal rifling. One of the best pistols I've ever owned. Heavy as a brick :p and crazy accurate ;) . While on-duty I carried an HK USP 9mm for about 7 years and later switched it out for m...

The laptop case is a leather BookBook by Twelve South for those interested. I find it nice to have when I am meeting with clients at a restaurant or a coffee shop when I am outside the office, as it's more inconspicuous to unwanted eyes while still being accessible. I was definitely not expecting that gear when you said "office carry". Very discreet carry options, enjoy the Lum. Thanks! My EDC is intentionally discreet as I'm always dressed up for work around the office and I try to keep an unsuspecting & professional appearance. So far everyone ...

Office EDC

Hey guys, just wanted to see what other people with office jobs carry with them to work. I work a 9-5 job sitting at a desk with a computer terminal and answering phone calls, and I thought I would share my monday-through-friday carry that I typically have with me in the office workplace environment...
