Hi guys, Thank you all for your kind words!

Hi Jack, yes, for the knives I've lowered the bevel angle, I retouch with the SM at the standard 15+15 setting (not that I did that much, I don't use the knives often/hard enough, and I strop obsessively :) )

best regards,

Joao

Manix 2 G-10 FFG new bevel, from ~40 to ~27, pics included

Before: After: So I couldn't resist lowering the bevel of my new Manix 2 G-10 FFG from the original of 20+20. My only previous experience reprofiling was with ZDP (Stretch and Dragonfly), so I wanted to know how different would S30...

How did I use my Spydercos today? Stupidly. I was having fun cutting hair by holding it from one end and quickly hitting it with varying spydies (couldn't cut with the Persistence; time to strop). Manix, chop, chop. Another hair. Dragonfly, chop, chop, Stretch, chop. Another hair. Techno, chop, Mani...

Interesting. Some of the earlier versions had the solid liners, but anything recent should be skeletonized. If the weight doesn't bother you, then I wouldn't worry about it and just enjoy the knife. You should be able to determine the manufacture date by looking at the end of the box. Besides the m...

Thank you for the pictures beside the Techno. I read "tumbled finish" in the 2014 catalog and was hopeful it was similar to the Southard or Techno. I love the Manix 2 as much as the next addict and have my fair share, but don't think I will buy another based on the subtle change shown in ...

That's a good idea! I try it, thanks! My thumbnail already has wear marks from the spydie hole edges due to obsessive fondling :)

jtoler_9 wrote:Crap. Time to get a Manix 2. I missed this update. Are all standard Manix 2 now FFG?
I believe so; although the 2014 catalog does not label the FFG G-10 ones as "NEW" (I think they deserved the label!), the saber-ground ones are not there anymore.

Manix 2 FFG G-10 blade finish and images

Hi, (I don't know why my attached images do not show inline with the text, sorry about that) The blade looks "sort of" tumbled. It is a matte finish, but parallel machined lines can be seen if you look closely (and maybe it's just my "early" sample, but these lines aren't consist...

That really sucks man. 50 bucks for losing 400 or so in knives? I hope one of their employees isn't the owner of some new really nice knives. Me too! One of the packages was my son's Galaxy Note 3 (500USD hand-carry limit not applied for up to one cell phone per person...), so we were REALLY thankf...

You are the first person I've heard of getting their hands on one of the new ffg manix's. Ops, I hadn't realized that. So I believe the polite thing to do is to post some pics and impressions, right? http://www.spyderco.com/forums/showthread.php?62282-Manix-2-G-10-FFG-first-impressions-and-pics Bes...

Saying it is beautiful is redundant, right? I never wanted the "old" Manix 2 G-10 because I prefer FFG, and I didn't want the lightweight because I wanted S30V; I lusted for the XL instead. I had downloaded the 2014 catalog but I hadn't noticed...

Manix 2 G-10 FFG first impressions and pics

Hello, I got the new C101G2 Manix 2 (standard size) FFG last month at the factory store. It seems there's not many out there yet, so here are some pictures and notes: (continuing on ano...

So what about the other two knives? Did you get reparations for them losing your stuff? Thank you for asking; long sad story follows... Unfortunately not quite. I live in Brazil, so only when I visit the USA can I order knives (and a lot of other stuff) online - import taxes to Brazil are abusive, ...

Hi Dan, The 2014 catalog (printed and pdf) says "Full skeletonized stainless steel liners give the G-10-handled Manix2 exceptional strength and heft." http://www.spyderco.com/catalog/2014_Spyderco_Product_Guide.pdf page 18 Mine is not skeletonized, and for the reasons I mentioned above, I ...

"older"? Aw! I got it in the Spyderco store in Golden on December 18th! The last place I'd expect to get an outdated one. Yes, it has the translucent lock cage. Do you guys mean the "newer" model, with the black cage, is skeletonized? If so, this was my most frustrating trip to t...

HI, Don,
They are not skeletonized; the liners have no weight relief holes. Couldn't find a word for "non-skeletonized"...
Thanks,

Information on Manix 2 G-10 FFG

Hello guys, I bought a Manix 2 G-10 FFG (not the XL) last month, and now while browsing the 2014 catalog I noticed it says this knife should have skeletonized liners. Mine has "integral" liners. Can owners of this same model let me know if the liners are skeletonized or not? I'm wondering ...
