Unfortunately I think you're right. A lot of inconsistency out there. Unfortunately where I live Spydercos can't really be bought via brick and mortar.

What's the "scuttlebutt" on an Endura 5? Anyone know of a timeframe?

Agreed. One is Chinese made and the other Japanese. The QC is done in Golden however.

Spyderco Singles Club?

I'd love to meet a girl who loves knives(and particularly Spydercos) as much as I do. How can us nice guys meet some nice knife girls?

I got the knife back and I think the letter says there was no defect which is a little confusing. I'm going to try calling the number Monday to see if I can find out exactly what they did. I know the clip was replaced and it was sharpened, but I'm not sure they took it apart to see the rubbing. Als...

The screws are screwed all the way in, so there's not any adjustment left. The play when open would probably be just a hair across Jackknifeh's "line of acceptability," maybe not even that much. The wobble-ability in the closed position is marked -- I've never seen that before, but I'm fo...

I can relate to your frustration. If my pivot were screwed all the way in, my M2 wouldn't even open. At 70% torque, I have smooth deployment, NO blade play, and perfect centering. The machined screw only holds the pivot and is not adjustable. I'm one of those OCD guys who tolerates no blade play or ...

Now that you mention it, my brothers M2 'free falls' when opening regardless of how tight the pivots are. He also has lots of blade play and can't tighten it out. Hates it. Mine(recently purchased) can be easily controlled at the pivot to eradicate blade play and is perfectly centered. Spyderco advi...

Haven't had much success contacting warranty, so I thought to ask you guys if you know if spyderco would send a replacement pivot screw for a paramilitary 2? I think Lou Ferrigno tightened down one of mine and used excessive loctite. My torx driver chewed up the head on it, and id feel better getti...

I just received my first Endura 4 in blue. Blade centering is atrocious(virtually touching the side), the spydie hole is jagged and needs smoothing. She's on her way back to retailer! As with my experience with the black coated tenacious, the QC is very inconsistent. Sorry to rain on the parade.

I'm confused because my Manix 2 has a fully adjustable pivot torx screw? Pivot tension is very sensitive to adjustments. The opposing pivot screw is "machined" I believe. What you have sounds like a QC issue. You should not have ANY blade play and your blade s/b centered!! In theory, with ...

Tuf-Glue. Another good one. :) I used 3 in 1 and WD-40 all my life just like Dad did. In fact I didn't think you could become a father unless you owned a can of each. I asked Dad where babies came from. He said first you have to get a can of 3-in-1 and WD-40. After that he told me a bunch of stuff ...

Tuf Glide = Super Glue

Same as Travis and Jackknife, I use Tuf-Glide as a corrosion barrier and Nano Oil for lubrication purposes. Great advice. Thanks to all for the Nano recommendation! Gonna get it particularly for pivot/action lubrication. Hope it's not a "dry" lube like "tuf-glue"! Something tell...

Thanks Jack. Sounds like great advice. Yes, all have come from the same dealer(knifecenter.com). They are 'AM' coded so can't be too old. They're getting pissed with my exchanges im sure. I did just blast the **** out of this new one with soapy water and hit it once again with tuf-glide. Will lay it...
