Re: My Manix side by side with a knife from around 300 b.C.
I notice that the word "celt" comes from a Latin word meaning chisel, so maybe the Romans named them for their tool making tendencies instead of just the famous stone axes

Re: Manix 2 lanyard barrel disassembly/reassembly question...
I've run into that a couple of times when switching Manix scales, having a little difficulty getting them on and off the lanyard tube, but was just persistent with waggling them around, sometimes gently compressing with parallel jaw pliers with rubber protectors on the jaws when the barrel was flare...

Re: Black Friday Deals
Just picked up a k390 Dragonfly Wharncliffe at SNK for $81.20. Would like to go back for the Delica version for 98.56.

Re: K390 Manix 2
To admire and fondle & sometimes use, I'd prefer the XL, but would actually carry the regular size Manix much more. The XL is the best fit for me of any knife I've ever tried and could have been made for my hand. The regular size, with thumb on ramp grip, is a perfect fit except that the butt po...

Re: Lil Native Light Weight?
I can't wait for it to come out, I'm also expecting it to be in the next reveal. I'm planning on ordering one from Spyderco as soon as I can. I like the size and build of the Dragonfly, however the ergos just don't work great for me. I see this as being an "American Dragonfly" essentially...

Re: Lil Native Light Weight?
I've really been anticipating this one and hopefully, a compression lock version as well. I have the current thick blade comp lock 4V model and much appreciate its mini-bulldog personality, but I'm glad to see the LW version with a thinner blade, to fill a different niche and indulge my chest pocket...

Re: I wish they would bring back.....
The lowered hump in the Dyad sounds great, to improve hand comfort during any kind of lengthy cutting... as long as the blades are swappable for lefties ;-)

Re: I wish they would bring back.....
I vaguely remember a thread about switching sides with the blades for lefty one-hand opening, the Dyad being one of the few Spydies where it makes much difference for lefty one-hand use. I hope it will be possible to shift the blades in the new model. I'd like to see the Kiwi 4 come back in a differ...

Re: Lightest weight 2 inch Spyderco with a clip?
Since you considered the Chicago, you ought to at least try to handle its lil' brother, the Squeak. At 1.6 oz, it's 0.4 oz heavier than the Dragonfly and 1/2 inch shorter, a fairly serious small handful of knife:

Re: Lightest weight 2 inch Spyderco with a clip?
I've commented about this a couple of times. I almost always carry a small knife in my shirt pocket along with pencil, pen, etc, usually a Dragonfly, sometimes a Kiwi 4, depending on how sturdy the shirt fabric is. The Kiwi carries just like a pen, in the edge of a pocket. But I'm always looking for...

Re: Stretch XL discussion
As someone who always wants an in-between size of everything plus a choil, I think this will be great! I hope they will make lighter knives for every niche. Every time I pick up a Salt or Pac Salt, I wish some of the others of similar size could be so light, or a little lighter. To me, opening up th...

Re: did somebody say magnacut manix...?!
I would love to see a linerless G10 Manix like they did on the Native 5 They also made a linerless backlock G10 Manix 2 briefly, Apr. 2017-Oct. 2018. I've never handled the linerless Native 5, but the Manix seemed a little thicker in hand than I like, maybe to make up for the missing liners, so I p...

Re: What Will Be The First Magnacut Model?
If the Native 5 Salt Magnacut is first, we need to start worrying about what'll be next!!
If Japan production is available, which I presume is unlikely, I'd like Stretch 2 in either blade shape; otherwise, Manix 2 or better yet XL

Re: Describe the upsides and downsides of your favorite knife in a single statement.
Watu: Slim, comfortable, drops free, and cuts like a dream. The blade tip will shatter if you look at it the wrong way. Also it looks like Sal asked a 5 year old to draw a knife then designed the Watu based on that :rofl It's part of the ethnic series & based on an African design, much used by ...

Re: Knife Joker GITD Jester 20CV!!
I've been ignoring GITD for decades so I was very surprised that this current stuff glows much brighter and for several hours. It could be useful if you were sleeping in a tent or the like. It inspired me to get the GITD Delica, which I usually leave on a bedside bookcase about a yard away from a di...

Re: Describe the upsides and downsides of your favorite knife in a single statement.
Tuff: Great in every way except that there’s no left handed model . The DLT exclusive is my favorite knife. I've always been a little grumped up about that, to the extent that I've never bought one. It's one of the very, very few Spydies that can't be easily closed one-handed with the left hand. Ho...

Cruwear Manix 2 CF & Superblue Dragonfly (giving blade-swapped k390 Stretch 2 & G10 ZDP-189 Stretch 2 a long deserved rest after a couple of months pocket time.)
