That's an awesome story! I have a fire extinguisher in my car and of course I carry a Spyderco on me most of the time, as law permits, but don't know if I have the courage to act as you did.
Truly heroic act!

Congrats Jim! Have to get one just to support the name attached to this. I've learned much reading your posts and you've always answered my questions when asked in the past.
It'll rest next to my Cruwear Millie when they're not in use.

Thanks for awesome review and pics. Made me go grab mine for some pocket time!
I have been so amazed by its level of refinement from the first moment I picked it up. Makes me think about getting a Bowie to match.

Yup, we all have our preferences. I like mine so much, bought two, original clip and all.
Maybe you can share which models you do like. So many to choose from!

I love the techno. Best little big knife I have. At some point I scratched the finish and ended up polishing the blade. Doubles as a very impressive money clip.
I use size 7 to 7.5 gloves and it is just big enough for a four finger grip.

Re: Optimal hardness for 52100
No one does it like Spyderco and sometimes no one does it but Spyderco! That, there, would make a nice signature line, Joe. That put a big smile on my face as well when I read it. Elegant and accurate. As I have grown fond of Cruwear, maybe Joe can share how 52100 would compare? Your wisdom is alwa...

How does 52100 compare to something like Cruwear?
Regardless, I'd like one as well.

Re: Spyderco and Cold Steel "collaboration" of sorts.
Dear OP, I've learned a lot about knives and steels here, mostly by doing a lot of reading and asking questions respectfully. Regarding Cliff, in general he is considered quite knowledgeable about metallurgy, as are MANY members here. This is a very fun forum to be a part of, so long as you don't ma...

Shockingly, green PM2. Probably because that is the only knife I have exact duplicate of. Hate to see what I would do to a Tuff if I had a double (which I may need to do)

Re: 1,000,000 Post Celebration Contest!
I have had a pocket knife for as long as I can remember, likely due to the influences of my dad. No one else in the family shared our passion for knives and we were in fact considered quite odd. He passed away relatively suddenly. His physicians were powerless and my guilt was tremendous. What kind ...

Look forward to your future reviews here.

Re: Sharpmaker question.
Cliff. Some of your posts add so much to my understanding. This one will immediately affect how I sharpen. Love it! Is this characteristic of the M4 steel, or? When you jump from the 30 to the 40 the pressure on the steel explodes because the contact area gets so small. Pressure is force/area. When ...

It's Sal's fault. Too good a product at too low a price. And no, I'm not asking for a price hike. I agree with Chuck about shame and it should come from the most respected person here. Without causing too much hassle to Spyderco or increasing cost, perhaps a short preface by Sal to reiterate the Mul...
