Re: Where Artificial Intelligence Is Right Now
https://www.sciencealert.com/ai-has-already-become-a-master-of-lies-and-deception-scientists-warn Yep. Told you so. AI cannot be trusted. That's not a problem. Train A.I. on the entire internet and it will learn human's flair for lying and gaming the system. It's doing exactly what the research is:...

Re: Generational Classifications: Do You Identify?
Boomer. I remember Eisenhower running for president. Here's a little jingle kids were chanting back then: "Ike's in the White House talking on the phone, Nixon's in the dog house chewing on a bone." Yeah, we were all little political zombies even back then. Oh and the official word on the ...

February 7, 2020 Georgetown Law’s Institute for Technology Law and Policy hosted a series of panel discussions on election integrity. During this portion, panelists discussed various ways voting machines could be hacked and outlined the benefits of paper ballots. https://www.c-span.org/video/?469098...

I've never been on Facebook, but it always seemed odd to me that they would hate knives so much. Maybe they are just hyper paranoid. Take a look at what they spend on personal security for CEO's. https://www.businessinsider.com/how-much-bodyguards-security-costs-ceos-mark-zuckerberg-tim-cook-2023-3?...

Do you worry about A.I. ? Some people are spending a LOT of money to make sure you do. Some good commentary here: https://substack.com/@aipanicnews Keep in mind that no regulation in America is going to stop A.I. research in other countries. In other words, all they're doing is giving China a clear ...

Just noticed the Cold Steel Mayhem in AUS-10A and G10 is now down to ~$135. Even cheaper if the coupon mentioned above works. https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1024990713?pid=966787 I'm guessing it will go down further and eventually show up with a resin handle, but that's a big improvement from ear...

... So yeah, there is plenty conspiracy theory, but if you read much history it becomes quite apparent, there is no shortage of conspiracy either. I think their lawyers like to phrase it differently. You'd be amazed what an impact consulting companies have on our world. All they do is make recommen...

Re: Where Artificial Intelligence Is Right Now
We seem to be a long way from an evil A.I. superintelligence that destroys humanity. My guess is humans will be the bigger problem for the forseeable future. In the meantime, A.I. seems to be most useful at leveraging human work. For example, Google DeepMind's AlphaFold project: https://deepmind.goo...

Not a big fan of Zuckerberg or Facebook. Just the idea that Meta’s Fundamental A.I. Research team, is codenamed FAIR is what I would call "fair warning". Microsoft has a colorful history too. Here's a good analysis of their project with Open A.I. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ix_R6WTX04I

Re: AI art knows Spyderco
I think privacy was pretty much shredded long ago. I think predictive A.I.'s main appeal is to sift through all the data that the Gov Agencies and Corporations were drowning in. Keep in mind that this isn't just an American problem, the same thing is happening in most countries around the world that...

2023 NL Cy Young winner Blake Snell signed with the San Francisco Giants (two-year contract worth $62 million + an opt out at end of season).
Giants should have a little life this year, with a big improvement in talent at several positions. Main thing is to be fun to watch.

... Ran a few Bess tests and got 84, 85, and best case 67, worst case 103. Cut up a Safeway receipt with ease. Ok, need to revise this a bit. First throw out the 67 as a flyer. Next the 84 and 85 measurements were taken with the EOU Disposable Clips which give a reading that is ~80% of the reading ...
