Re: Forum Knife???

There's nothing that says you have to be a forum member, to buy a forum knife, is there? Certainly sales are not limited to ONLY forum members? I am all for everyone getting a shot at one. I was around during the 2013 Forum knife era and that discussion got really ugly as far as members deciding wh...

Thanks for the pic! I have a few of the 2015 ones, but I had no idea they got bigger after that.

Re: Roadie vs Pingo

The Roadie does improve several things about the Pingo. One thing is that because it has a actual finger choil, the knife is not going to close on your hand accidentally and your finger is not likely to slide forward on to the sharp blade. Both of these were somewhat of a problem with the Pingo. I ...

Re: Unpopular Blade Steels That You Like?

I'm joining in to say BD1. I only have one knife with it, a Manix lightweight, but that thing sharpens razor sharp so easily and the rust resistance is great.

Re: Taxes on online knife purchase

You got it. Online retailers can collect tax now. It's a requirement. Basically, state governments (mostly California, actually) pushed it through so they could collect tax from companies like eBay and Amazon, because they felt that they were losing out on a lot of sales tax revenues that they felt...

Re: Real World BD1 experience?

I have a BD1 Manix LW that lives in my kitchen drawer and I use it to slice veggies quite a bit... I touch it up every so often and it works like a charm. I've never had a problem with it.

Sorry about your knife... I have one of those as well, and really like it. Glad you are bringing it back to life, though!

Re: Google engine: "forbidden": Blocked website classified as weapons

The free internet is a courtesy provided by Kohl's, not a right. They are not an internet cafe, they are a store that offers it as a service... I think it is funny people threatening to boycott the store or saying people should sue them... it would be like getting mad if a place has free coffee and ...

+1 on the Izula, the knife disappears in your pocket.

Thanks for the heads up! I always wanted one of these and the color not only makes it unique, it also helps you find it when you drop it in the woods. :)

I used to buy backups so I could use my knives without worrying about them... I've gotten over it, though. :)

Great looking knife! I like the functionality of my Persian, so I think I would like the Chinook a lot (I only cut everyday stuff, no people, maybe some avocados and apples).

Re: Have you ever returned a knife for bad grind lines?

I've never returned a knife... I think as long as the blade still feels smooth (doesn't drag when cutting, etc.) I would be fine with the marks on the blade.

My paycheck and Spyderco get along a little too well... I wonder if I can figure out some sort of direct deposit system with SFO. :)

How dependent are you on your Spyderco?

I went on a flight out of state the other week, so obviously I did not have a knife with me on the plane. When the flight attendant handed me my little bagged snack, I reached for the Spyderco (usually a USN Ladybug or a Squeak) that usually resides in my jeans' watch pocket and it wasn't there. I m...

Re: NYC Stabbing: Is that An Endura?

Ironically, the model looks like a Spyderco Police model. It sort of makes me sad that a tragedy happened, and the first posts are all political... left, right, whatever, there is a lot more going on here than just thinking about ourselves and being worried that our favorite brand is featured or wha...

Re: Hiker Knife

I go hiking quite often, and generally have a PM2 in my pocket and a Stretch in a pouch in my back pack with a few items I might need in emergencies (backup compass, whistle, matches, multi-tool, first aid-etc.) I never regret having the knives with me, but in the past seven years or so I have only ...
