My Resilience has been my dedicated "beater"'knife for a number of years now, a role it fills quite well.

Googling "stop pin trick for compression locks" will be helpful. Pretty easy fix and good to know.

Interesting thread....my Resilience has been one of my all time favorites, albeit the price point factoring in strongly into that opinion. It has been my go to "beater" knife for quite some time now....

After spending much, much time with my 4th Yojimbo2 this last year, I can honestly say I lust for a PM2 in S110V with a Wharnie blade. Oh Baby....!

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
Yojimbo2 in the S30V flavor. I have had 4, including a S90V collectors club, and this latest rendition is the best yet. If someone would have told me 4 years ago that the Yo2 would perhaps become my favorite EDC I just wouldn't have believed it. Just goes to show you never know....

Re: Help me decide on blade material for Mule Team elk hunting job
Having brought down elk here in Washington state, I would opt for the South Fork. Built for the task with all the necessary qualities needed including the ergo's for a large, time consuming job. If I could not go with the SF, I would go with the S110V. I have had two blades with it now and was very ...

On serrated edges unlike some, I will use a medium rod hand held like a file and go down into the scallops to touch up if needed. I also have a tapered round diamond sharpener I use for this also. Wicked sharp edges every single time. This is in addition to using the Sharpmaker in the traditional wa...

Re: I cant sharp my knife with sharpmaker triangle :(
Thank you guys !!! I will work on that next week and post the results here. If you get the diamond or CBN rods, be sure to just use light pressure when using them. Use lots of passes rather than being aggressive. Let the stone do the work, be patient. Also, some like to use water or Windex on those...

In addition to the previous suggestions a person can just angle the blade out a touch by hand if needed to get to the apex. This is not ideal because you are just guessing but with experience it is quick and easy. The ideal thing in simple terms, would be to obtain either the diamond or CBN rods, an...

Hello, Do you have the instruction DVD that came with your Sharpmaker or had the chance to watch Sal's or others YouTube videos online? Not sure from your post which video you watched. Bottom line is you are not getting a clean sharpened apex. There can be a couple of reasons for that, but that's wh...

Thanks,
Little doubt after watching those that it would be declared rightly or wrongly, as a Gravity Knife by many authorities.

Is there a video showing one of these being opened anywhere? Can they be flipped? Can they be construed as a "Gravity Knife"? Very interesting!

Well one thing to consider is, I believe they are technically two different locks, in that the Dodo is a ball bearing lock, as opposed to the Manix LW S110V being a Caged Ball Bearing Lock. I have had several CBBL's that were all pretty darn solid, but no Ball Bearing Dodo's so I can't directly comm...

Re: Favorite "beater" or hard use knife?
My Resilience fills my beater role. I like it with a toothy edge, and it is a cardboard eating machine. The large handle gives me lots of leverage, and at its price point I don't care when it gets scratched up, which it certainly has. Truth be told, it is just a really good work knife.
