I carry spydies all to the time for travel. And since I live in Indy ( the burbs) you are good to go up to about 4 inches here on a folder.

I use a military everyday at work in my bunker pants. It has been beat to crap, but works like a champ. I will add a pic when I get back from vacation :D

I am absolutely love the south fork it is one of my favorite knives (fixed blades) period. The knife does what I want and stays super sharp for a long period of time.

That said, I would love to order a 6" version from Phil.

I carry mine in my EDC rotation several times a week. The knife was "hard" to open about the first week, but after a bunch of cycles it is smooth as butter. I enjoy it, and have gotten a great appreciation for 3V steel. I have a strider in the same, and love it.

I havent done any serious testing yet, but I took it out while landscaping in the yard last. It did well on burlap, cutting plants, and pruning some trees and shrubs in both the hard wood and soft wood variety. I also used it to make some fuzz sticks for the fireplace too. I haven't noticed anything...

Thanks all. I will send it to Spyderco. When I said solid lock up I should have said plenty of blade is on the lock and appears solid on the lock face.

Vertical blade play in Ti Military

Before the I ask my question I will preface that fact that I currently own 20 Spyderco knives and this is the first ever that I have had a problem with one new in box. Pockets, anodizing is on the future next round of pimping.

EvilD, I understand your thought on the open construction. Good thing with the backspacer that I can take a q-tip and swipe any gunk right out. Grip traction is great when I am at work with gloves on and not bad bare handed too.

You can also check with a company like ahope.org which you can also use as a tax right off and the clothing will go to HIV infected persons in Africa that really need stuff. My wife does some volunteer work for them and they are always looking for donations.
