Re: Your Favorite Slysz Design And Why

https://i.imgur.com/RVyufJK.jpeg My Slysz family (original releases). My favorite is the Bowie followed by the SpydieChef. The Swayback and Technos are also great, and I carry all these regularly. Certainly didn’t take Nick Shabazz to convince me how awesome the Bowie was, I made up my own mind on ...

Re: Knifejoy Exclusive...Slysz Bowie??!!

The sticker refers to the Slysz Bowie being (in many people’s opinion) the Spyderco GOAT (greatest of all time).

Re: Spyderco 50th Anniversary Knife?

I can think of at least 5 aftermarket scale makers who make titanium scales for the PM2, several of which make or have made fluted scales of one type or another. I know some of them are working on Military 2 scales as well. Not one of these makers offer what Spyderco made, which is a full Ti handle...

Re: Spyderco 50th Anniversary Knife?

There has not been a Ti PM2 yet. There was a fluted Ti PM2 prototype that “escaped” the Golden factory years ago. I have pics of it on my computer at home and will post them later when I track them down. Obviously the model never made it into production but given they made at least one go of it, I’...

Re: Spyderco 50th Anniversary Knife?

I like where mikey177 was going with the 50th anniversary being the golden one, and Golden certainly seems like the most fitting factory to make this commemorative model. I also like what Coastal was saying with it being a newish or new model — so I’ll throw out the option for a fluted Ti Military 2...

Re: Spyderco 50th Anniversary Knife?

The C50 is a Centofante. A 50th Anniversary knife commemorating Spyderco and this huge achievement, plus a nod to one of their great collaborators, masters in their own right plus a tribute to how much Sal has been able to pull makers like Frank C. and many others in to express themselves with Sal’s...

Re: Knifejoy Exclusive...Slysz Bowie??!!

“Nothing special” yet longtime users and some CC members like myself who’ve had the option to try basically every model Spyderco’s ever made say that it might be the best model they ever put out (some of us did buy them long before they were discontinued too). Apparently the truth is somewhere in th...

May I ask where you got yours? I preordered on BHQ last year and I haven't heard peep!
He has one because he’s the president of the company. They haven’t been released to market yet. I’m sure you’ll read about it here on the forum when it drops. Cheers, Radioactive

Re: Looking for a kydex sheath for a Street Beat with a micarta handle

I recommend you contact Christina Gere at SheathPro who made the sheaths for the Mule team and possibly (likely) for the Street Beat. (She is Sal’s daughter BTW.) Cheers, Radioactive

Re: Military Sprint Runs No More?

Personally for me, it’s sad to witness this likely end of such an important era in Spyderco history. The more recent CQI Military 1s are so amazing. While I like the new Military 2 version, to me it’s a larger PM2 and not so much a “Military” anymore. I’m not writing this to provoke a discussion abo...

OK, to play Devil’s advocate here, the ultimate CQI version of the Calypso Jr. hopefully exists as the up and coming FRN Caly, which comes complete with all these requested updates. Don’t fix what isn’t really broke…

Re: Calypso Jr Sprint Run Considerations

I personally don’t want ANY changes made to it. Keep the sharpening notch, no jimping or any other thing that would make it a cousin vs a sibling to all the others.

Re: Spyderco 2024 Lists: Delivered & Upcoming

No denying you did!! Just more of a grrr that my favorite vendor’s price was $299.99! The funny thing is that I actually didn’t buy my CC 087 because I thought it was too expensive (or at least my wife certainly did). Brancron bought it, sent it off to be rock-patterned (plus adding a small lockbar ...

Re: Spyderco 2024 Lists: Delivered & Upcoming

I purchased my original Slysz Bowie Folder (C186TIP) with CTS-XHP Blade and Titanium Handle in September 2014 for $279.95 from Cutlery Shoppe. So, I paid 44% off MSRP of $499.95. Nice, I purchased mine in 2018 and by then it had gone up to $299.99 The original price at NGK in September 2014 was $29...
