Re: We finally got the UKPK Salt. Thank you Sal

Thank you Sal and thank you Liquid Cobra! https://forum.spyderco.com/viewtopic.php?t=75065 I think we’ve all agreed a green drop point version should also be in order. Be careful w RIT dyeing FRN too folks, that material absorbs it within seconds unlike the G10 instructions that recommend half-hour ...

Re: Swayback CQI

I’m not sure why you folks think that all these requests to make changes or updates to any of the Slysz models are going anywhere. The Swayback and the others are as faithful renditions of the custom Slysz versions that Spyderco could manage to produce at a balanced price point (keeping production c...

Except that both can be considered descendants of the C52 Calypso Jr.
I am obviously well aware of this, not really the point of what we’re talking about here in this thread though...

Well, the UK penknife is basically a slipjoint version of Caly 3
Technically it’s the reverse. The Caly 3 (model C113) is the locking version of the UKPK (model C94) that was introduced first.

Great Reveal Spydercrew! :)

Now I have to echo the question of why that lovely UKPK Salt isn’t in the official green color of the LC200N Salt series. That would have been so very, very cool...

Re: Para Military 2 Titanium

Those scales are beautiful! Does he ever sell them separately or do you have to buy the whole knife build from him (that's all I see on the Lynch website now). Thank you, I don’t find them to be very “bleh” at all. ;) I purchased my PM2 (and Delica) scale sets from Casey probably 6 years ago now. H...

Re: Which finish for a Lynch clip matches the Delica 4 titanium scales

I use a polished one on mine (and the Para 3 version at that), but either the polished or satin one would look good. The satin one is the most direct match to the finish of the stock scales. Cheers, Radioactive

Re: SpyOpera - CQI?

I know of some lefties who switch the clips on knives like the SwayBack to left-side carry and "Spydie Flick" them open with their middle fingers. It doesn't work for everything, but it is a potential solution. Since I write most of the copy for our knives, I try to include key terms that reflect t...

Re: Para 3 Maxamet strange patina

I wonder if it could be some sort of vapor deposition from gases while the laser is cutting? Probably not, unless the hole is made after the primary bevel is cut. Maybe it is a mark left by some jig or clamp used at some point in the manufacturing? That clamp hypothesis is spot on I think (pun inte...

Re: SpyOpera - CQI?

I know it’s a slap in the face to lefties, but I greatly prefer knives that are drilled for right-hand (and preferably tip up) carry only. It’s purely aesthetic of course, but to me that matters. However, since I’ve already got a SpyOpera from the first run, no harm no foul! I agree totally and am ...

Re: Para 3 Maxamet strange patina

Are you left-handed? The oils from your thumb left around the Spyderhole will be enough to cause that pattern by effectively shielding that area from developing as much of a patina as the rest of the blade. If not, there may be some oil or whatnot left on the blade from the factory that would likewi...

A smaller UKPK is the Urban, a smaller Urban is the Squeak, a smaller Delica is the Rookie. All models that currently exist. :)

Re: 2021 Spyderco Product Guide Live

Para3 G-10 and ParaMilitary2 models which had CPM-S30V are transitioning to CPM-S45VN but keeping the same model numbers? Steel changes have never prompted new catalog numbers. The Native 5 went from S35VN to S30V (but apparently not S45VN), the Techno had those inadvertent batches in S30V rather t...

I don't see it on the sticky anywhere.
Call me pleasantly confused.
What? It’s the top sticky and very first thread in the Topics. It’s titled “2021 Spyderco Product Guide Live”. ;)

I believe I remember seeing Sal comment somewhere that they intended to eventually offer a K390 Wharnie Delica. Or maybe it was just wishful thinking. :)
