Re: NEW: MGE Wholesale Teal Native5 Exclusive

This is not meant to be a pic demonstrating the subtle color difference in the teal FRN of these, but I thought it was cool to zoom in and see the grind lines, especially on the N5 swedge. If you do compare the colors on each side (Delica on left, Native 5 on right), you can see they’re not quite th...

Re: Urban/UKPK Wharncliffe

I would absolutely prefer a wharnie UKPK over an Urban. I’m actually not super interested in seeing another SE rescue version only because of a recent bad experience with one of my UKPKs when I was using it a bit too “hard” and forgot it was a slipjoint. While trying to pierce open a hard plastic ju...

Re: What I want for Christmas

That’s the KnifeWorks exclusive configuration (forest green G10 and 204P). Unless Roger (not Sal) has one ready by then, I doubt you’ll see one. Sorry to be the Grinch. ;)

Re: Urban/UKPK Wharncliffe

I voted yes because I have basically every variant of both models. No offense to CTS-BD1N (it’s OK), but I’m really hoping any new variation would be S30V (or better), similar to the recent HH red G10 exclusive UKPK. A G10 model of either the UKPK or Urban deserves something more special than a valu...

Re: NEW: MGE Wholesale Teal Native5 Exclusive

Maybe the differences we see in the color is how our eye perceives? The Native handle being wider and presenting more area looks lighter than the narrow handles of the other knives No, the actual shade of every single color “shared” between Japanese and Golden models is slightly different: pink, ye...

Re: I should uh, probably get a Chaparral. Right?

I don’t personally believe the Native 5 and Chap are that similar to be interchangeable. The Chap is far slimmer and more intended as a “gentleman’s” (or “ladies”) knife, while the Native is far more of a tank with much thicker handles and blade stock (yes, I know they are basically equally capable ...

Re: Scratches in G10

I can believe that>> but it's got an active ingredient that does much more than any mineral oil I've ever used. It's also got some type of ingredient in it that seems to do well in some types of cleaning jobs. It does great in many types of firearms cleaning jobs and it doesn't leave a residue like...

Re: C41PTBL5 Teal S90V Native 5 lightweight

Now you're thinking outside the box! Which thickness did you grab? Not so much out of the box as I have multiple custom Native 5s including this rock-textured orange G10 set from 2013... https://i.imgur.com/w2Zv1ic.jpg The Tiffany blue sets I purchased today were the 1/4 x 1.5 x 5 inch ones. Twenty seconds on google yielded this: https://popsknife.supplies/products/tiffany-blue-g10 https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0220/0308/9472/products/IMG_5317_360x.jpg?v=1570116678 Thanks for the link. I bought a couple of scale sets of this “brand new just released” color. So there will be at leas...

Re: Black/Gray Zome + Damascus Delica and Endura Distributor Exclusives

According to that definition above, they are either flat or hollow ground, period. A saber grind is a subtype possible for either variation. They are clearly not flat ground (in the case of the Delica, FFG), which has been the entire point of my posts in this thread.

Re: Black/Gray Zome + Damascus Delica and Endura Distributor Exclusives

From the following website: https://agrussell.com/knife-articles/blade-grinds “A sabre grind is either a flat or hollow grind where the primary bevel (the grind) does not cover the entire width of the blade, leaving some portion unground. If someone says “sabre hollow ground” you know the blade has ...

Re: Wharncliffe's

Good point about the SE folders, I wasn't taking those into account. The edge on my Salt Wharncliffe SE holds up just fine... And now that I think of it, the grooves in the SE salt are basically the same as a zero edge (on one side), full flat/hollow grind, so the precedence is there as far as dura...
