Mine just arrived from HKS too - I REALLY like it. The only thing I would change would be to replace the clip with a deep carry wire clip, but the rest of the knife is near perfect. The short blade is small enough to not be intimidating, but large enough for good cutting ability. The handle is large...

I'll be damned if I pay 160 bucks for a dull knife I'll have to spend hours reprofiling. I used to collect Busse knives, and they were almost notorious for shipping blades that were crazy dull. There's nothing quite like taking a brand new $800 fixed blade to the 1x30 sander the day after it arrive...

I find the xl to be so large as to be almost comical, and hence I barely ever carry mine.

I'd be in line for pretty much any small, but normal-shaped CF knife with a CBBL. No poliwogs or dodos for me, thanks!

Howes has one in stock, Blade HQ is sold out. STP is certainly a reasonable backup to those two, and cheaper than most other online dealers right now.

The Nishijin Cricket was $50 at BladeHQ about two weeks ago, so it's interesting to see it on STP now too. Stock of these might start drying up soon, so snag one now if you want it!

I still want a CF version, but the Nishijin has turned into a great little nonthreatening office knife for me.

Fluted Ti Militaries are available!

I just found out that Cutlery Shoppe has some of the fluted titanium millies in stock, and I'm guessing some other dealers will get them too. They are limiting purchases to one per customer so I'm guessing stock is pretty limited. If it was fluted CARBON FIBER (hint hint), I would be jumping at this...

I was excited for it, was even saving my Forum Native in pristine condition to be able to trade when it came out, but honestly it's been so long now that I've sort of lost interest. I'm also not the hugest fan of the Native format - I finally broke down and carried my forum version, and wasn't parti...

I still love the idea of a Graham Knives collab - the Razel is a fun concept, and I've used the fixed blade version, but the production folders don't do it for me and the custom folders are out of my price range. The same idea, with a spyderhole and super strong lock (instead of the liner lock on th...

To me, the superleaf has too much handle and not enough blade. For as bulky a knife as a superleaf is, I'd like to have more cutting surface. I have other knives with just as much cutting edge, which ride much more nicely in my pocket. If you want a beefy knife with a strong lock, sure, go for it - ...

the Cricket arrived today, and after looking at side-by-side size comparisons against the Balance, I think I actually talked myself out of the Balance. The Cricket's ergonomics are excellent, and it was on sale at bladehq for half what the Balance costs, so it's hard to justify the Balance right now...

Balance carbon fiber?

I've been on a bit of a "small knife" kick lately (corporate life will do that to ya!), and I'm considering a balance. I've got a nishijin cricket on the way in the mail, but just noticed that Knifeworks has the CF balance in stock. Does anyone here have experience with this model? Do you ...

I am willing to pay original market price, and not a penny more. There are always tons of new, awesome knives coming out - I have absolutely no motivation to help somebody else profiteer. No one knife is that important to me. I used to have a very different opinion, when I collected a lot of Busse f...

That "same way" shown in all your videos sucks. There is no need at all to utilize gravity to close a spyderco lockback one handed. Gbelleh's photo series is much closer to the way I close mine.

Some of us have been carrying lockback knives for a very long time, before linerlocks were in wide production. Please be very careful trying to operate one one-handed, I've seen some serious cuts from people that closed the blade on their finger while doing that. With the spyderhole, it's extremely...

It is a good size and a very good knife for someone that ... doesn't care about one-hand operation Maybe it's because I've been carrying lockback Spydercos since I got my first Endura, Delica, and Rescue in Zytel in the 90s, but I've never had any problems operating any Spyderco lockback I've ever ...
