Caly looks much better than I had expected. If it becomes your user, you may get some other wear patterns on the handle as you use it. Who knows, might become a favorite if you use it enough!

I have 2 Nilakkas, a user and a safe queen. When I got the first one, I looked at the edge under a bright light and it looked a bit rough to me. I primarily use the Spyderco Sharpmaker for sharpening - have for many years. Have tried stones, but still like the Sharpmaker. Anyway, decided to lightly ...

One thing you might consider is to keep some knives as your "good knives" - that is, "safe queens" that you admire, take out to look at, and appreciate, but keep in immaculate condition. No scratches on blades, etc. And then buy something like a Tenacious or Resilience to use as your hard use knives ...

Thanks for posting these pics, Cheddarnut! The LW Manix2 is one of my favorite Spyderco's. Like mattman said, just something about the translucent color. Looks great out in the sunlight. Personally, I like the hot colors: red or orange or yellow. And the green is nice, too. I've been waiting for ...

The dealer I bought my Tuff from has a Szabo that I've handled twice. It is a BIG knife. Opening seemed appropriate to me.
I've only had my Tuff for about a week. Seemed stiff to open and close at first, but I must be getting used to it, seems fine to me now. I have a large ZT with flipper that I ...

I have a Tuff, which is also fairly stiff to open and close. I felt this was probably by design, given its fairly thick blade and robust construction. Not the type of knife to just be flicked open, but built to last. The Szabo has an even more massive blade, and I'm guessing it was designed to be ...

I'm not from Calif, but traveled there a number of times on business. Would make it a point to go to Plaza Cutlery in Costa Mesa. They carry customs and high end production models. Don't know for sure about Spyderco, but I'm guessing they carry them. Be worth giving them a call. They also have a web ...
