Re: RIT dye job on G10 gone wrong

Caly looks much better than I had expected. If it becomes your user, you may get some other wear patterns on the handle as you use it. Who knows, might become a favorite if you use it enough!

Endura has the 4-way clip, whereas Salt is tip-up only.

I had been looking for the latest issue of TK on the newsstand (well, Barnes&Noble). Sorry to hear they are going under, as that was my favorite of the 3 knife mags. Steve Dicks articles were always interesting and authoritative. He'd truly been there, done that. Sorry to see them go.

For you ...

I have 2 Nilakkas, a user and a safe queen. When I got the first one, I looked at the edge under a bright light and it looked a bit rough to me. I primarily use the Spyderco Sharpmaker for sharpening - have for many years. Have tried stones, but still like the Sharpmaker. Anyway, decided to lightly ...

OK, you guys did it to me. I had been valiantly trying to resist the brown Native, but the terrific photos did me in. Put in my order this morning!

One thing you might consider is to keep some knives as your "good knives" - that is, "safe queens" that you admire, take out to look at, and appreciate, but keep in immaculate condition. No scratches on blades, etc. And then buy something like a Tenacious or Resilience to use as your hard use knives ...

About a month ago, I bought a Tasman Salt. Pivot screw and back spring screw were torx. Flipping the knife over (side that shows "H1" on the blade), these look like 2 caps - rounded appearance - looking like pins. So, torx for adjustment, but appears like pins from the most photogenic side ...

Thanks for posting these pics, Cheddarnut! The LW Manix2 is one of my favorite Spyderco's. Like mattman said, just something about the translucent color. Looks great out in the sunlight. Personally, I like the hot colors: red or orange or yellow. And the green is nice, too. I've been waiting for ...

The dealer I bought my Tuff from has a Szabo that I've handled twice. It is a BIG knife. Opening seemed appropriate to me.

I've only had my Tuff for about a week. Seemed stiff to open and close at first, but I must be getting used to it, seems fine to me now. I have a large ZT with flipper that I ...

I have a Tuff, which is also fairly stiff to open and close. I felt this was probably by design, given its fairly thick blade and robust construction. Not the type of knife to just be flicked open, but built to last. The Szabo has an even more massive blade, and I'm guessing it was designed to be ...

I just got a Tasman with serrated edge to use for gardening. Had to take out some dead evergreen ground cover. Really impressed by how well the little knife worked. Pull cuts really effective. Very pleased with mine, although not planning on using it for EDC - more of a special use knife for me ...

I'm not from Calif, but traveled there a number of times on business. Would make it a point to go to Plaza Cutlery in Costa Mesa. They carry customs and high end production models. Don't know for sure about Spyderco, but I'm guessing they carry them. Be worth giving them a call. They also have a web ...
