I also recently got a recent production Sage 3 CF on the secondary market as well. Mine is ground very, very thin behind the edge, at least as thin as my VG-10 Caly 3.5.

The liners are normal. I can't tell from your pictures what the mark on the blade might be. If you bought it from KnifeWorks, then give them a call and see what they say.
