I can't take any cool, creative pics of mine because it's just now on its way to me. I am so excited for this one! Here's a pic, and as you can see, this one NEEDS a pocket sheath! :D http://i1217.photobucket.com/albums/dd392/jac808/E1CA063A-E8CE-4C00-AF67-7D3978F4AA0F-2638-000001299BBC3557_zpsdd857...

I think it's necessary to have one strop for each micron rating of diamond paste if you want a polished bevel with a minimum of scratches(assuming that you did your grit progression correctly). You also have to watch cross contamination between the strops(for example: contaminating the 1u strop wit...

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but in your first post you listed a number of cuts next to each type of steel. Is that the number of cuts that you made on rope with the steel still being able to cut paper afterward? Or is it something else altogether?

Use the ignore feature any time someone interjects a little objectivity, presto, right back to subjective opinions only. Is it possible to bring objectivity to a discussion without interjecting an elitist attitude? I am all for objectivity, but how about objectivity with a smile? :) My point was si...

I'm not sure I understand what you want here. Is it fine for people to share opinions if they're completely wrong, and others are believing those opinions? Lets have an example. If your opinion is "VG10 holds a working edge far longer than S90V". Fine, that's your opinion, but I can tell ...

Gonna have to agree with Chuck on this one. You have to understand that what we happens even more than "internet policing" is people with the wrong facts and wrong info spreading it around to people who would believe it as fact if someone didn't step in and set them straight. There are so...

Yeh, right so instead of facts and metallurgy, we should focus on misconceptions and wrong info? :p Science and facts are great, but this isn't a text book it's an internet forum for general discussion about Spyderco knives. I'm not saying opinion should take precedence over fact, but people should...

I haven't been on this forum for very long, but in that short time it has become less appealing to read. I understand it's a knife forum and there's a need to discuss the science behind steel, but man....it seems like the internet police show up right away and try to beat everyone down with facts an...

You should really check out the Chaparral if you haven't already. It's only a tad longer when closed, but the blade is quite a bit bigger. Carbon fiber scales, S30V blade, etc. Sounds just like what you're looking for. It only costs a little more than the G10 Dragonfly, it's a no-brainer for me.

The loctite is used as a thread locker. You only need a very small amount on the threads to hold the screw in place. Use a tooth pick to place a small dab on the threads just prior to setting the screw. It will set up and keep things in place. I assume they sent the blue, right? I'm not sure if it'...

Got a package from Spyderco today. They sent two new short screws and a tube of Loctite (not really sure what to use this for..?) for free! Thanks Spyderco! I have already put the new short screw in and tightened it down. I can still move the scale a hair if I try, but it's negligible. Now I feel li...

With the Chaparral there are two different sized screws for the clip. A short screw for the side WITHOUT the clip and a longer screw for the side with the clip ( I assume to accomadate for the extra thickness of the clip wires). I am unsure if Spyderco will have extra short screws to sell but maybe...

Seems like I'm the only one with this problem...I've never had the best luck!

It is obviousy loose though, it slides from side to side and it will lift away from the liner too.

I emailed Spyderco customer service to see if they could send me another short screw to tighten it down.

I've had my Chap clipless for 2 years as well. I keep it in the same pocket as my keys. You would think it would look all beat up, but it still looks like new. That CF wears like iron. Loose scale on Chaparral

One of the scales is loose on my Chaparral...I removed the clip from it (like I do with all knives that have them), but I didn't notice if it was loose before that or not. Could it be from the clip being absent? Anyone else have this problem?
