I also understand everyone's concern about rust resistance but that's not really a problem for me either. I'm super anal about keeping my blades clean anyways. It is humid in SC but I've carried around carbon steel blades and had no problems

I meant no problems with. Not now. Sorry.
I looked at the stretch as we'll but it didn't really speak to me. The endura is just perfect for me. Now I'll have the ultimate endura. I'm stoked about this one

I use a smiths diamond bench stone for heavy work and a king 1000 and king 6000 for finishing. Also have the sharp maker for quick touch ups. Couldn't stand it, just ordered the zdp endura. How am I supposed to go to sleep now? :)

There are staples in the lids sometimes but they are the big copper looking ones. Mostly I'm just cutting the lids off of the boxes so customers can get to the PVC fittings easier. I haven't hit a staple yet but I'm very careful I have several S30V blades that I have now problems sharpening (custom ...

They actually let you do that? I had a knife in my pocket the whole time when my son was born but I didn't think I could get away with using it. Congrats on your new addition. Mine is a month old now

Endura 4 FFG VG-10 or ZDP-189?

Okay, I know this has been discussed but I can't help myself. I just got a blue endura 4 in vg10 a couple weeks ago and I love it. I use it at work to open boxes and tear down cardboard at times. I just got some birthday money and and contemplating another spyderco. I've been looking at the manix 2 ...

Thank you so much for all the kind words. Sal, the wife is doing wonderful. And so is my boy. I can't wait to give him his first Spydie. I'm thinking I'll start him off with a Byrd Robin and then we will go from there. I guess it's a little early to really think about it but I'm a proud daddy. All t...

Tip #3: don't pull the knife all the way through and let the tip come off. It WILL round it over.

Good luck!!

A hearty congrats on your new son (I have a 1.5 yr old son, watch out!) and welcome to the forums. You should get your son his first Spydie to commemorate this special day! As for Native love, how's about this? http://i780.photobucket.com/albums/yy85/dnairradiator/3892B3C1-9E6E-4A5B-AAC8-58F5884FD4...

My usual routine for knives I can't take apart is soak the pivot area in WD-40. Work the blade opened and closed. Blow out with compressed air and wipe off the excess. Repeat as neccessary. Then a drop or 2 of nano-oil. Also, I'll use a toothpick or thermostat screwdriver and a t-shirt rag to clean ...

Native Love Anyone?

So I've been in the hospital pretty much all week. I'm a proud father of a chunky baby boy. I had a lot of time to basically cruise through knife forums and look at reviews, pictures, mods and all that. But I think I fell back in love with my Native while I was there. It's a sweet little knife. I lo...

Thanks for the kind words. I took it one step further today. I got some gun blue from Sportsman's Warehouse and treated the clip. It makes it not stick out like a sore thumb now

Tenacious Lowrider Clip

Did another experiment today. I made a lowrider pocket clip for my Tenacious. I used an old sawzall blade and then finished it in the beadblaster cabinet. What do y'all think? I'm going to make one for my Buck 110 next. http://i1145.photobucket.com/albums/o508/bighaze51/photo_zps19668a56.jpg http://...

I use a green Brillo pad and barkeepers friend. Wet the pad and pour some on there and just scrub them. They come sparkly clean.
