Re: Re: Spyderco 440C Spyderfly
Why do you exclude me from the party just because mine is VG10? :P In same boat with ya Larry, Spyderfly in VG-10 ;-) The "exclusion" may not be intentional ..., some may not realize the Spyderfly was first produced in VG-10 b4 moving to less expensive to produce version in 440c, b4 being...

w3tnz,
Nice looking work there ;-)
Are you installing any type of reinforcement insert for the stop pin in your scales (metal, etc.) ?

Re: Spyderco Paramilitary 52100 Carbon Fiber
That serrated version has a really weird SKU. Usually they read: Model number - handle material - edge configuration - handle color (if different than normal) - steel variation (if different than normal) - model generation (not always consistently applied, as the Para 2 sometimes ends in a "2&...

Re: Yo2 sticky lock
This really is why I stopped posting on forums like these. People who want to impose their "superior knowledge and experience" when it is not required nor wanted. Often these "enlightenings" can turn to pissing contests. @Spey: I am the OP not Spydernut. When he first suggested ...

Re: Yo2 sticky lock
Hmm. You seem to have misunderstood my entire point, Chuck. I was talking about using pencils only, as in the good old #2 pencils. A mechanical pencil works well too. No lubes . I am aware there are graphite lubes on the market, but that is not what I was referring to. No worries, though. I'll be o...

Re: New Spyderco: The WolfSpyder
Is it a true scandi grind? The double beveled "modified scandi" grind just never really did it for me. It looks cool though--a bushcraft folder. 5-months and 5-pages later and nobody has answered this question ...? Photos and videos I have seen so far seem to indicate there is more than o...

Re: Military for edc
Kinda hard to make a valid argument against a knife design that has been in continuous production for 20-yrs :-) Cody_G93 “ Military for edc - Anyone regularly edc a Military? ” Yes, I carry a Millie every day, along with a PM2. If you comfortably carry a PM2, then I would think you would have no ma...

Re: Un-sharpened blade heel, what do you think?
I think this area should just be sharpened (as soon as you have the secondary bevel chosen for a first good sharpening). Yes, takes a little thought, time, patience (how to not get a half-smiley, recurve, etc.), but I believe the best solution if possible. Sometimes done in one sharpening, sometimes...

Re: Desirable to polish the back bevel?
I wonder how much of that can be blamed on the blade grind and not so much the finish? In my mind I imagine a large convex blade not having much of an issue with this. But yeah, it goes to show that everything is a compromise. Which, in turn, makes me wonder if the "ultimate" grind for a ...
