Re: What makes a knife your "FAVORITE"?

This is a great thread; I am reading through these responses and finding myself agreeing with all of the empirical analysis (steel, shape, lock, etc.) and almost of all of the subjective (blade shape, color, etc.)

I have a very modest collection of Spyderco knives {Caly3 ZDP, Domino, Dragonfly ...

I was fortunate enough to stop off at the Factory Outlet last week while I was in nearby Highlands Ranch, CO. The staff was wonderful, indulging my need to handle knife after knife after knife. It was great to actually handle some of the more exotic knives that arent carried anywhere around here ...

Your above questions are one of the reasons I haven't purchased a Tasman or Zulu. Anyone have experience sharpening these on a Sharpmaker? Great question SoWe.

It is easy to sharpen my Tasman, using just the brown and light grey rods that were included with the Sharpmaker. I use the Tasman as my ...

Those H1 versions arent coming up too frequently on the bay - I have been getting the daily search updates and when they do hit they are always in that +$200 range

Waiting patiently by the monitor and making regular sacrifices of bluefish / stripers will yield a Catcherman some day

I have the Tasman with the SE blade and it is the best knife for yardwork I have found. The blade can dig through roots, prune branches and cut anything you need. Plus, it stays sharp and after I clean the sap off the blade - that is it.

It is a great EDC for me, esp since there is almost no ...

The Tasman is the best yardwork knife I have ever owned. The hawkbill digs out dandelion roots, cuts vines and slices through small branches like a champ. The H1 blade's spyderedge maintains its cutting ability without an issue and rinses clean

The blade is just under 3 in, which makes it EDC legit ...

I am by no means a long term expert, but I have been using a Tasman with a spyderedge as my EDC since Dec'12.

I found it to be useful for regular tasks, like breaking down cardboard (esp during Christmas), less useful for opening envelopes. But over the past couple of weekends it has really shined ...

Frankly, I love the knife, and if getting the carraca repaired means I'm not getting it back, I'll live with the silence.

The "flavor" of Native is not quite set - as I continue to flip between the FRN (like that blade style's look) and the G10 scale (like the metal handle). The fluted Ti scale is just not a budgetary option at this point in time.

I will continue to check the Spyderco site and those of some reputable ...

Noob question re: availability

Hello,

I have recently started in with Spyderco knives, after years of having inexpensive pocket knives that dulled / broke after a couple of months. I picked up a Ladybug to replace my Swiss Army, then a Tasman and finally a Caly3 Carbon Fiber.

The LB lives on my keychain and I have cycled the ...
