Usually, Dutch customs charge import duties and VAT (BTW) on any purchase coming in, on the complete price including the cost of shipping. In my experience, that is still cheaper than buying it in many Dutch brick and mortar stores. I've had good luck with German online dealers, their prices were f...

You should ask on some Dutch forum... In Italy, for example, the postman brings you a sheet to fill, nothing complicated, and I choose whether to receive, at home or go and get it at the custom paying 20/30% of taxes. Only once, a retailer on ebay, sent the knife by ordinary mail: I couldn't track ...

I use and abuse my PE Salt I. If I sharpen often I have no issues keeping it shaving sharp, but I find a week of use leaves a good working blade, but not a shaving edge. I too echo the functionality of the Pacific or Salt over a inward-curved, hawkbill blade. Hawkbills make excellent tools for cutt...

Personally I wouldn't opt for a hawkbill blade for camping...the shape might look cool but will limit what you can do with it. I would also stick with plain edge for camping, which pretty much narrows your choices down to two knives, the Pacific and the Salt 1. The Salt is Delica sized and the Paci...

We typically recommend oiling a knife about once a month, and this is about how often I oil the knives which I carry every day. I have free access to a particular brand's blue-colored lubricant, so that's what I use. It's also a good idea to clean your knife if you ever notice any grit in the pivot...
