I sanded and polished the edges of my first Lil' Temp where it contacts the pocket and it's been nice to my pants ever since. It holds very well and doesn't rip up my pants.

I miss the G-10 Harpy and Micarta Calypso Jr. I have one of each, but I'd like to give a few away as gifts. I've already given away one Harpy and 3 Calypso Jr's. They're just hard to find now. To me the G-10 Harpy is one of the greatest farm work knives ever devised and the Calypso Jr. is one of the...

I have a Black Gulch that my brother gave to me about 13 years ago. I also have a Talon, which are great and oh-so pointy. I had a Boa recently and it's a good knife, especially when you take out the Speed-Safe spring. It just never got any time compared to my Lil Temp and Military, so I traded it o...

I might point out that you're on a forum on the Spyderco website. You most certainly don't have a problem...at least from our point of view. In the past two weeks, I've traded for or bought a Starmate, Karambit, Lil' Temperance TP and a Ronin. Problem? On the contrary I think I should be congratulat...

Is there any way of differentiating between steels on these? I'd like to get a few to look at the grain size and structure under a SEM for comparison of the steels. If not, I'll still take a few.

I love the Khalsa, but have had some trouble getting one to keep. I had one a few years ago, but the lock just absolutely died. I then had a SE, but I really wanted a PE. I picked one up for cheap and the lock was pretty beat, but I'm fixing it up and doing a few other things to it. It's going to be...

Is the red handled Harpy a SS model with a custom scale? It looks nice!

I'm interested to see the design of it. It has dual liners and G-10 handles, so I imagine something with construction like the Lil' Temperance, but with the Military shape.

I don't think it'll be too heavy, the Lil' Temp is just because it was built that way.

You have the original Navigator there. There were a few marked "Experimental 1 or 2" before they got the C62 moniker. I don't remember if it was 1 or 2. One was the Navigator, the other was the Pegasus. All the Almite Navigators came later as a variation of what you already have. They're n...

I always liked the blade shape of the Perrin, but the handle just didn't do it for me. The finger groove is WAY too big in my opinion. I bought a Perrin off Ebay a few months back and got the Temperance in a passaround a day later. After handling the Temperance, I sold the Perrin the next day. It's ...

It's ironic that they called it a "large knife". Back in 1999, when you could still carry knives onto planes, I took a Calypso Jr. with me on a trip and didn't have the slightest problem. About 6 months later, I intended to carry a Blue Native with me, but was told I couldn't go through......

I personally lean towards the Calypso Jr., I just find that it fits my hand a lot better. However, my brother-in-law loves his and won't even consider getting another knife. To each their own. It really is a fine knife, a lot slimmer than nearly any other knife in that size class except the BM 94X s...

Others are right on as far as the hardness issue goes. The RC 90 is only on the surface. The blade itself remains at 58-60 or whatever they treat it to. Therefore, that fact is useless as far as cutting goes. High carbon steels will hold an edge much better than low carbon. Basically, carbon makes t...

I agree that it's a great knife. I love the Calypso Jr. design. My first two, both Micarta, were given to my dad and brother. Then I couldn't find one for a while, until I posted on the WTB section on bladeforums. I picked up a LNIB Micarta model for pretty cheap. Then about a month ago, I wanted a ...

Ultra fine Sharpmaker stones

Are the UF accessory stones for the Sharpmaker really worth it? I'm already very impressed with the edge I get with the fine stones. Any experience with these would be appreciated.

I nearly always have two (or more) blades on me, one in my RF pocket and one IWB left hand. One of the two is always a Spyderco. When I go swimming and only have one on me, it's a Spyder.

I always have to have a knife and I'm confident and comfortable with my Spyderco's.
