Re: Cruwear Native Chief ????

The Chief reminds me of the backlock Manix and Police 4 in that they were discontinued without any sprints. Big knives — backlock knives, don’t sell the same as that sweet spot 3-3.5 inch blade. As much as I love the Chief, Police, and even Military for that matter, rarely do I feel the need to act ...

Re: Location

Central Florida currently, although I’ve also lived in northwest Oregon and eastern Tennessee. If anyone is from those places, I feel a special connection with them. Same goes for Knife-nuts. You’re all cool in my book.

Re: Straight Spine Stretch

Snagged one from KnifeWorks last night! Looking forward to checking out this straight spine! Like the Stretch ergos, was just never a huge fan of the original blade shape. Hey, I recognize your handle! Big fan of the Stretch myself, ordered a straight spine also. Still have a superblue in my collec...

Re: Dear Sal, a question about that floating stop pin..

It was the CQI on the Military that made me dive into the platform. Conversely, I couldn’t keep any PM2’s once I saw the superiority of the floating pin. Until the PM2 gets the new stop-pin, I’ll be sticking to the Military.

Re: Knives I wish I had bought two of

A 52100 Military sprint is my most carried Spyderco and boy do I wish I had a backup. The little brother-PM2 I have stashed will just have to do for now.

Just saw on Instagram. Spyderco revealing some new 19 models. One is their first sprint run of a
Cruwear Shaman with brown canvas Micarta scales.
That thing’s going to be insanity.

Re: Crazy deals @ Sierra and other places

A seller on eBay has listed 50+ new Pacific salts at $50 shipped. Looks like he has recent positive feedback regarding the sale of Pacific salts, so I ordered a couple. Amazing knife for $50 if you don’t already have one. I carry mine more than any other in my collection for the versatility. This i...

Re: Dedicated Vehicle Emergency Knife

Recently remembered an ESEE 3 packed away since I have virtually no use for a fixed blade in my day-to-day. Stashed it in the truck...right next to the Mossberg 590A1.

Re: REX 45 Military In Stock!

Got my Military Rex 45 today ...thanks Blade HQ. Besides the uneven grind on the show side by the tip (doesn’t bother me) ...the knife is built very well with good action , centering, and awesome build quality. This is my first G10 /Linerlock Millie as I have only the Titanium fluted and KW Ti/CF f...

Re: REX 45 Military In Stock!

Rex 45 selling like Fun-Dip at a little league game, and there sits the Knifeworks S90V framelock Military for virtually the same price. I swear I don’t understand what drives knife sales.

Re: Finally got a sharpening system

I went with an EdgePro when I lived in Oregon simply because they were local. Very similar setup so yeah, I guess Sal is right about Loray being the pioneer. Great for reprofiling, I’ve picked up a couple knives on eBay with damaged edges for cheap as a result. The 52100 PM2 I got was cheaper than a...

Re: Am I the only one?

Not typically my opening choice, but the titanium frame lock on my Military actually deploys easier with the middle finger flick for my use. There is indeed a trick to it though, it took a little practice for me to get good at it.

Re: Actual users

Ha! You already know it, Portland. Once passed a kid and his dad out on a trail, they appeared to be from Portland and had .22’s for squirrel hunting. The kid apologized to me for carrying a gun and I just laughed, “this is an open carry state, no need to apologize!” The dad looked grateful as I’m s...

@Hops It’s so interesting to me that in a profession where people are almost fascinated by blood and guts, not to mention surrounded by tools to disassemble the human body, that there is such an aversion to edged tools. I can assure you that your experience isn’t an isolated one, i’ve heard many in...

Re: Actual users

I’ve worked in Tennessee and Oregon so very close to Georgia and Idaho respectively. Just seems to be the tone of people I’ve encountered, especially Spydercos, they’re scared of what they don’t understand. Other than that ER doc I mentioned, I can’t recall ever seeing another knife at work; lots of...

Most used knives to date are my PE Endura and SE hawkbill Ladybug. Now, the Endura has been everywhen and done everything with me. Just reprofiled it to 30 degrees inclusive tonight in fact. It’s been a great backpacking knife, house work knife, gardening knife, Amazon package destroyer, picnic knif...

Re: Ebay

Just before PlayStation 3’s were released there was quite a bit of buzz they were going to sellout immediately, despite the $600 price tag. This was 2006, my wife and I were fresh college grads and flat broke. It just so happened we were off work for a couple days right around that release so we sto...
