S35VN Persistence?

Hey yall! I was perusing on BHQ and came across a fully serrated Persistence lightweight in S35VN. According to the description, it was supposed to be made available in June of this year, but it appears it is still not available. Anyone know if and when it might be coming out? I had been trying to g...

Re: Martial Arts Experiences Discussion Thread

Hey y'all. This is a great thread. Lots of awesome experiences in here. Myself, being a young man at 22, I have not had the pleasure of spending any major portion of my life doing martial arts. I did however train in Judo for about 4 years at a phenomenal dojo with wonderful people. I advanced my gr...

Re: freedom v. fear

This thread has been a pleasure to read through, guys. Some eloquently written statements as well, especially that last post by Mad Mac. I will try to make this reply as short as I can while still communicating my point. I am currently working as an Armed/Unarmed Security Guard in California (Gear c...

Re: Emerson knives??

My full size Jungle Commander was one of my favorite overall *designs* ever. That unfortunately is where the positive comments come to a drop dead halt. I handled a few different Emerson models recently and I had the same thoughts and feelings about them then as I did 2 years ago.

Re: Canis in black DLC --any interest?

I would love a canis in DLC as its the first new blade from Spyderco that I've really been interested in since the Shaman came out. Unfortunately, I really cant justify $200 for the regular version, let alone any more for a DLC version :( If they released a serrated canis in DLC, I may reconsider. S...

Re: Did TSA confiscate your LADYBUG

Yesterday I bought a discontinued LADYBUG™ II BLACK FRN LBKII serrated sheepsfoot like the one below from a guy in a parking lot. I was there for the Ontario SP-1 and SP-10 he had on CraigsList but he also had a ziplock bag full of pocket knives that he bought from the State Surplus Store in Austin...

Re: Best steels for serrations?

I personally have always found serrated edges to be easier to sharpen and keep sharp. I understand this is the Spyderco discussion area, but in the interest of furthering information in the discussion, I'm going to bring up my Microtech Socom elite. I have a combo edge model and I always liked the w...

Re: Smart Phones

Just gotta come back here and say y'all, I recently purchased a new phone on a whim because it was a good deal. It is a Oneplus 7 Pro. I cannot begin to tell you how nice the upgraded 90mHz refresh rate is on this phone. The display is gorgeous and infinitely smooth, the phone is wicked fast (Snapdr...

Re: Smart Phones

I have had a number of phones. I enjoy updating every year and a half or 2. I have had experience with smartphones from apple, motorola, ZTE, samsung, LG, Google and essential. Motorola is probably king of the budget phones, or at least they were up until samsung released their "A" series ...

If I forget my usual carry, I have a spare blade in my truck. I also have a spare blade or 2 in my backpack which goes most places with me. I once forgot to stick my knife in my pocket before making a 3 hour drive to visit friends for a weekend. Thankfully walmart has some decent options nowadays an...

Re: Fellow reptile lovers??

I have always loved reptiles. My poor mother on the other hand, cannot stand them. Still, shes allowed me to have some over the years. I had a high yellow leopard gecko named Charlie for 5 or 6 years and he was great. Right after Charlie passed, I got a female creamsicle Crested gecko that I named C...

Re: Rating Battery Performance, Also Favorite Vendors?

I am running some cheap off brand rechargeable 18650's from Amazon called EBL. They say 3000mAh at 3.7v on the case. They work fine in my Fenix PD35 and I use the light frequently on duty. I suspect 3.7v is not enough to drive the diode at max output though because the 1000 lumen setting looks like ...

Antifog for sunglasses?

Anyone have any good recommendations for anti fog for glasses? I wear my Wiley X Valors for eye pro when I go shooting but I will also wear a shemagh pretty frequently as the shooting locations in my area are windy, sand filled places and I prefer to keep the sand from beating the skin off my face l...

Re: The Usefulness Of Multi-Tools In This National Emergency

I regularly utilize my leatherman skeletool for various tasks. I had a wave but I sold it because close to 9 OZ was way to much for my pocket and I'm not a belt pouch person. The skeletool's blade holds an edge pretty well for being 420HC and it sharpens back up to a hair popping edge with little ef...

Re: SE 440V

I traded for a 440v SE Millie with one of our very own on the forums. Eventually I got bored with it and traded it back to him. Its the only knife I have and still do regret getting rid of. 440v is a great steel and was never terribly difficult to keep sharp on the sharpmaker. Great testing that mak...
