Thanks Forum

I do not get to look in on, nor post, as often as I’d like but I wanted to say thank you to whom ever it was that stated that the rough side of a Scotch Bright sponge pad could be used for SS Spydies I had some very light but visible (to me) scratches on my 50/50 Police. I VERY lightly used the ...

Welcome, Welcome I enjoy my combo Police since I can only afford a limited number of these great tools (I have a lagybug 50/50 also) I thought it would be the best of both worlds in one knife. But the point is wll put that the pressure point for cutting is reduced.

Beyond this there must be ...

Afraid I am one of those "fence sitters", my SS Police is a 50/50 since I do not own many spydies I was hoping to get the most out of one knife.

Razor,

I don't own a lot of Spyderco blades (yet) but I do like my 50/50 SS Police. I'm sure it would "do the job" if you had to but as this forum has said befor a knife fight with or without training is the last thing you want to be involved in.

I too thought that the SS Police would be too heavy to carry around the neck but I have done so, mostly on weekends, and have been amazed at how I did not feel the weight. I have also tried it with zip ties to create belt slots and it has worked very well. Thanks Mike for a great product. Traveling ...

Believe it or not but when I as flying (pre 9/11) I always carried a PE Gerber Junior Magnum L.S.T. (still do as my EDC because it is less threatening than the SS PD 50/50) I got into the habit of having a stamped self addressed jet pack in my brief case. If stopped I figured I’d mail it to myself ...

Good Luck with your SS PD! I have an engraved 50/50 that goes everywhere with me. Just got a Rive City Sheath to go with it (It’s a little heavy to hang from the neck) I’ve used zip ties to convert it to a belt rig.

Sharpness Test

OK Gang, I read the post on lending Spydees and noticed that the question of sharpness testing came up with often frightening results. So, other than treating every knife like a gun (assume it is always sharp just as a gun is always loaded) how does one safely test for sharpness? I have heard of the ...

Tip care of an SS 50/50 Police

I have recently become the proud owner of a 50/50 SS Police MD and was wondering... the tip appears to be very delicate, beyond my doing something stupid, which is not outside the realm of possability, has anyone had point chipping (I donot know if this is the appropriate term) problems with the ...
