Hrm... I've got that knife too, only instead of dremelling off the guard, I got used to opening it *all the way* by catching it on the edge of the pocket, aka "Waving it".

But the mod does like nice aestically.

Sharpmaker question?!

I got mine last night, and i love it. My kitchen knives are perfect. My carbon fibre police is scary shaving sharp.

I was just curious about one thing, the 12.5 degree hole on the side. Does yours seem too big for the stones? The bottom of my sharpmaker is "bowed" out about .5mm in the middle and ...

It doesn't matter what size the knife is, the same amount of work goes into it, no? Infact, it might actually take *more* work to get a small knife as well thought out and planned as a large one...

I've usually got a spydie in my left back pocket... Mainly because I can use a right-handed tip-up liner-lock w/o worrying about it opening, that way i can have 2 knives w/o having to worry *too* much about ambi-dexterous clips.

Sorry, ya. I meant the C35, it's just that those two (Lum and Q) used to be my EDC so i got their C# mixed up.

Thanks for answering the question so fast.

cheers.

augh!!!! You could've traded it to meee!!!

anyways... my main argument isn't the handle size... it's actually the blade size, i just want a bit more. The handle is fine, esp once you tie a lanyard on it (OD green is perfect) makes the ...

So what would it take for the "large" one to make an appearance?!

(or for me to take this "failed experiment" [large proto] off of Sal's hands... me wantee!!!)

Stuck in their current sizes...?

I was just drooling over some of the Bob Lum customs... esp. the Chinese folders. Then i realized that they're *all* bigger than the Spydie one.

Why does spyderco seem to be *stuck* at 3"?!? Is it their attempt to be more sheeple friendly? (As I write this, i'm thinking of the birth cert that ...

Spyderco Q (C65?)

What's the steel in this little powerhouse? Mine's finally retired in a small Spydie zippered pouch... but i'm still curious.

dialex,
there's nothing wrong w/ my knife, not in the *least*... but i just like the ability to take stuff apart, it's in my nature every since i was a little kid.

(as for the eccentric pivot, those aren't hard to adjust and i just *had* to see how it was done... <img src="wink.gif" width=15 ...

Why doesn't Spyderco...?

Why don't they use threaded inserts or nuts or something on their knives? Isn't it awfully easy to strip the threads when it's just screwed into aluminum (ie. Lum Chinese).

Is it cost? Is it additional work? Is it 'cause we're not supposed to be field stripping the knives to begin with?
