55. I started carrying a knife while I was in the Army, back in the day, way back. I've carried literally hundreds of knives over the years until the mid '90s when I "discovered" Spyderco. Now I only carry Spydies, at least one, every day. :D

Left hip- a Ronin in a cut down sheath attached to my belt. Right front pocket is currently a Dodo, but it could also be a Para or a Scorpious.

Although I understand the benefits of tip-up carry, I prefer tip down. Maybe it's because I'm used to it and tip up appears more complicated. I reach into my pocket with my thumb and index finger and grasp the hole. Then in a single move, slide the knife out of my pocket while snapping the handle to...

I carried the Scorpius for around 6 months as a general purpose knife. Yes, slippery, but I fitted bath tub non-slip pads to it and haven't had any problems since.

It takes time, lots of it. Pay particular attention to the angles, both the sharpener and the blade.

I currently carry a PE Dodo and a Ronin. I shaved down the Kydex sheath for belt carry only on the weak side. Works out well as I'm currently working security for a large mortgage company and they aren't enamored with us carrying firearms. The Dodo is for EDC and the Ronin for SD. My favorite Spyder...

Sounds like you have good reasons for dissing them. Yeah, Buell did have growing pains. But, timing is everything. The problems you spoke of were before HD bought all but a point or two. QC is WAY up now. I had a '99 S3, a '98 White lightening re-issue, and a '00 Blast. Other than rocker box gaskets...

POS Buells? Wadda ya mean? I've had three of them and if it wasn't for recurring back problems, I'd still have at least two. I still drool over them at any dealer I go to. Yeah, my RKC gets the job done, and done well I might add. But there's nothing like a Buell. Nothing.

Some people are selling their own collections. Never used, boxed knives. Others are selling knives they purchased in buyouts from a store going out of business. They can get stuff for pennies on the dollar. Still others are selling at a 5-10% markup and hope to make money in volume. There are a lot ...

jeremygore- You might want to consider one of the smaller tool kits for American bikes. Not too much larger than a bicycle kit but I doubt you have fasteners larger than the ones on a Harley. I used a knife over a dozen times today. Everything from cutting bubble wrap to size for packing ebay items,...

Maybe the people where you are back down. Here they don't. And, the 'bangers all carry guns and use them. I spent too many years in the Army to get taken out by a 'banger. :-)

I avoid them at all costs.
