Re: Opinel knives

I LOVE these knives. They're possibly my favorite. Here is 3 of mine, all #6. I have another #6 carbon for backup, #6 in olive, #7 carbon and a #5. My carbon here is my first Opinel and it's been through a lot. I left it closed on a bookshelf for a couple months and it ended up having some corrosion...

Already have a small Seb...Sage 2 worth it?

Hey guys,

For some reason (could just be an addiction) I am itching to buy the Sage 2. I already have a small Sebenza, which I LOVE. Is the Sage 2 worth it if I already have a small Seb? Is it EDC worthy over the small Seb??

Thanks!

I did cut into an orange yesterday and went to clean it today after cutting a mango and there I saw the spot.

Does CTS-XHP patina?

Has anyone tried anything else to get rust off? I've read an onion works.

Rust already? Barkeeper's Friend safe on my Techno?

Hey guys, I was cleaning the blade on my Techno earlier after cutting some fruit and I noticed some small spots of what appeared to be rust (orange-like color) on I guess, the tang of the blade (where the Spyderco/Taichung etch is). I must of not wiped the blade as well as I should have there after ...

Mine came sealed in the plastic from Howes. It also has a darker clip than an earlier Techno I had. I wonder if they're from different runs? All of the unboxing videos that I saw on YT showed them not sealed in the plastic. But I had one earlier that came sealed. A newer one I have came unsealed. I...

^ awesome photo man! I love my Techno as cool. Such a cool little knife. I have a small Sebenza which I LOVE, but the Techno is so **** cool it might overtake that as EDC. Don't have any cool photos, but I do have the Cuscadi orange backspacer. I haven't put it on yet and not sure when I will...don'...

What would you guys recommend for SuperBlue around the pivot?

Hey guys, I got my second SB Caly 3 this weekend. I'm thinking about making it an EDC due to coolness factor of the SB. I plan on using it for EDC tasks, but maybe minor food prep as well. Not necessarily cutting up meat I'm going to cook. I'll probably cut some fruit that I'll eat or even a steak a...

Does Tuf-Glide wash off with dish soap?

It's been an adventure filled day. I decided to use my Caly 3 SB today and I was cutting some fruit and I love the patina so far. It patinas SUPER fast. I washed the knife with some dish soap and I swear, even that gave it some patina on the tang. But anyway, call me crazy, but I applied Tuf-Glide m...

Rust on Super Blue?

I'm sucker for aging things, like my brass zippo, leather and denim. When I received my Caly 3 Super Blue, I am definitely going to let it patina naturally. I am going to apply Tuf-Glide to the pivot area and part of the tang. I'm concerned about the potential of rust forming though. I've been resea...

I'm just being a little paranoid... I hoped on a Caly 3 SB on eBay from eBayer don41512. Here's the link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/140909451688?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 I'm positive that it's real because I doubt there are fakes of this sprint, plus he has 100% feedback....

I really like how these patinas look. I don't want to force mine, but once it happens naturally, what should I do to resist rust? That's what I'm really worried about. Looks like the steps would be: Tuf-Glide around the pivot/tang Use the knife Patina occurs and then what to prevent rust? Is wiping ...

Super Blue Caly3 coming soon?

Hey guys, Sorry if this has been discussed but I was wandering on a site and I say a listing of a Super Blue Caly3 that was marked as "Coming soon!" I do remember reading from Sal that it was in the works. I'm wondering exactly when? I cannot wait for this...I am really wanting to try Supe...

Hey guys, just a quick update. Sorry to all the PM2 fans but I'll have to go with the Native5 on this one. AMAZING, AMAZING knife. Quality is top notch. So far, my favorite knife. Ever. Perfect size and feel for my hands. Simply perfect. I love the click of the lock and love the sound when folded. E...

Hi guys, I decided to get both and here are my impressions so far. No use yet, no cutting, just held them and played with the locks. Native5: First thought, built like a tank. Amazing quality and feels like it could handle anything. Even Zeus throwing a lightning bolt at it or Thor wrecking it with ...

Native5 or Para-Military2 for EDC?

Hey guys, semi-new Spyderco fan here. I'm wondering what you guys think would be a better EDC for me as I haven't really seen too many comparisons. I have narrowed it down to these two for my EDC. I have a Delica4 which I love. I love the size and the handle so I'm starting to think the N5 might be ...
