Re: New Discoveries found in 8Cr13MoV testing

So, how would the edge angle affect the results? Say, 30º inclusive vs 20º inclusive? What was the angle of the edge being tested and how thin behind the edge was the blade?

Re: Sal, a handle forward Lil Native?

One advantage this idea would have is a cutting edge as long as the Chaparral. The Chaparral is really hard to beat, I know. I have two and wonderful knives they are. The LN would benefit and still keep the blade legal in most places, though.

Re: Sal, a handle forward Lil Native?

I get what you're saying Doc Dan, and I agree with you. I'm not a fan of the grips on the Native or the Lil' Native. They just never felt great in my hands. You are right. They are just not right, somehow. I'd rather have a more neutral and choiless handle on both, with more edge. When I want a 3&q...

Re: Family friendly jokes

A student applied for university and had to do an interview. The interviewer thought the boy was very smart and since he could answer all the questions correctly, he decided to corner the boy with an impossible question. “For this next section, I can either ask you ten easy questions or one really d...

Re: Family friendly jokes

Three drunken men climbed into a taxi after a heavy night of drinking. Immediately realising that the men were inebriated, the driver quickly thought up a plan to get rid of them. He started the engine, turned it off again and said: “We have reached your destination.” “Alright pal, here you go,” sai...

Re: Sal, a handle forward Lil Native?

Little knives are popular. It is what it is. I happen to like them, though I've come to appreciate and carry the XL knives a lot. I'd be interested in this. Yeah, we need a knife capable of eating an apple with slice by slice and small enough to drop in our pockets, despite what larger knife we mig...

Re: Sal, a handle forward Lil Native?

It seems we are discussing removing the choil on the blade + handle and shifting the handle edge/nub forward and the blade edge backwards. If we kept the same handle length, it would give more edge on that blade length and a 3 - 3.5 finger grip on the handle. This would have the sharp edge of the b...

Re: Sal, a handle forward Lil Native?

The Lil Native is a three finger knife, three and a half if one squeezes in. The finger guard before the choil is in the way. If it were moved forward to the end of the scales, and the cutting edge lengthened, we'd have close to the same grip length and more cutting edge. This is actually such an ob...

Sal, a handle forward Lil Native?

Hey Sal, would a choiless, handle forward (like on the rockjumper) Lil Native be possible? Keeping the same blade length, this would give a lot more cutting edge to a small knife.

Proper insults: 1. "I am enclosing two tickets to the first night of my new play; Bring a friend, if you have one." George Bernard Shaw to Winston Churchill. "Cannot possibly attend first night, I will attend the second...If there is one." - Winston Churchill, in response. 2. A m...

They made us get rid of paper bags and go to plastic. Now they want to get rid of the plastic and charge us for paper. I don't know why paper companies don't make grocery and garbage bags out of bamboo. Bamboo makes very strong paper (and soft blankets and towels). It is quickly renewable with some ...

I also think that reduced friction is a compelling thing. Add that to corrosion resistance and durability and its a winner.

No, just do a Delica like before, but with different materials. Let's not make this complicated. A UKPK would be a good idea, as well. Then our brothers and sisters in the UK can have one.

In the 2" to 2.5" range I recommend a Lil Native. It comes in a back lock, but I think you might want to try the compression lock because it would be easy for your hands to operate, I think. Either way is a win.

2 Manix to try, now. First, a light weight. Amazing. Second, if you can find one, a back lock Manix. Really amazing.

I didn't watch the Oscars. I never do. I got disgusted with them years ago.

I am glad it won and the affects were very good. I wish it had been nominated for more. Some of those actors really made you feel their pain and grief.

I wish my dad had talked more about his experiences. He was bitter about his service experiences and I think he suffered from PTSD (sure of it). He said most of his squadron didn't survive and that he survived a B17 crash in the desert. I know he was injured and had back surgery. He was a radio oper...
