Re: Clad steels and the affects on performance?

The HAP 40 Stretch 1 is still to be found... I found a super blue stretch 2 $475 is out of the budget :( for my year I think BBB still has the HAP40 Stretch 1 for around 170 (you'd have to look that up) - and I personally even prefer the "1" over the "2" And HAP40 is my favorite steel... :) I am un...

Re: Outdoor Spyderco - what would you pick?

Manix is a good choice (but I really like the Endura in that role, sorry).

Re: Endura-thin-blue-line: What drives me crazy...

The TBL Endela and Endura look tempting. I, for one, am not opposed to combo edges. I like them, in fact. It gives me what I need where I need it. Wartstein, I agree about the Endura being about the right knife. SE or CE, it is a great knife and does what I need a knife to do. It is not too big and ...

Re: Whisky

I used to enjoy Scotch and Bourbon as well. Alas, I can no longer drink any of it. I tend to like smooth whiskies with complex palates. I am a heretic. I kept mine in the refrigerator. I like it cold, but no ice. Just neat or a slash of water only (a splash of water releases the aromas). I like the ...

Re: Picked up my first SE knife... I don't get the hype.

What about those, like me, that keep their serrated edges hair popping sharp? sal Haha I wouldn't have the patients for that! How does one shave with a serrated edge anyhow? Sounds painful :D Again, why do you "have the patience" to keep your PE knives sharp but not your SE knives? SE takes even le...

I am glad to see Seki knives with so many upgrades in steel. I am especially happy to see this Dragonfly. They are like popcorn, you cannot have enough.

Re: Picked up my first SE knife... I don't get the hype.

It's all in the sharpening. Straight out of the box is no comparison and really doesn't tell you the whole story. I was going to say something along those lines but you beat me to it. Once the knife is really, really sharp, and the tips start to wear just slightly, the knife seems to come alive to ...

I always thought it was an interesting concept, especially for people who like the balisong knife. I am afraid I'd end up with the pen stuck in my eye or something, though. :D
