Spyderco factory custom scales

Hi Folks,

How many of you would like to see Spyderco produce factory custom scales that we could purchase from Spyderco to update, decorate, customize, personalize our knives? What would you like to see?

What scale materials do you want to see introduced?

Hi Folks, I wonder what materials you would like to see Spyderco introduce on their current production knives? I would like to see: 1) Lightening Strike Carbon Fiber on the G10 Dragonfly and Manbug (those models with liners). 2) I would like to see forest green G10 on the Enuff. What about you all? ...

I only keep a very few of the most important. If they are everyday run of the mill knives, like a BM 556 or Delica FRN, then I do not keep them. If it is a high end knife or a custom, then yes I do.

Sounds like it was a bad situation... For my purposes, the FRN is adequate. I use it to open packages and letters at home, and when I take it out, it is usually paired with a bigger, sturdier knife. Do you carry the Dragonfly as a standalone? If you often face these situations, you could carry a big...

did the flexing in any way make it unable to perform its job? Yes, because the knife just bent sideways. A police office arrived and we used his knife. From that day on, I have had no knife in my pocket without liners to stiffen it. I might consider one of the H1 Dragonflies as it would not be my p...

Success! I finally got her to sit down and try my Dragonfly. She was able to unlock the blade safely. I am going to get her an H1 model because she will not have to take as good of care of it. I am also ordering a Pink Squeak, too. (I am looking hard at the Meerkat but want to find one I can try out...

Also, if your wife really wants a knife that won't open in her purse/pocket, look into a Kershaw Leek. It is assisted opening with a little slide that can be used to prevent the knife from opening entirely until the slide is moved out of the way of the blade. See if that is something that appeals t...

This has been interesting. Thanks to Coulro I found a couple of meerkats for sale. I want to find one and see if she can operate it before I spend the money (shipping is a killer!). I have also thought of the squeak. Any thoughts?

The D-fly is a great knife and I think fulfills what most non-knife aficionado urban users need wonderfully. Though I like the G10 model and have had one in the past, I don't feel that it adds enough functionality for the ~90% price increase. Right now the G10 price has come down. KW's for example,...

I have thought of buying another G10 and either a ZDP or H1 and swapping the blades. The H1 is appealing because I love to fish. What are your thoughts? I still get liners, green G10, and a great blade (although there is nothing, not one thing, wrong with VG10!).

It's a great knife indeed. I like the addition of the full liners and steel backspacer over the FRN version. This guy rides in my pocket every day. http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7398/8721335952_06f13e9057.jpg Nishijin w/ STR Lowrider by senorsquare , on Flickr That is a really beautiful knife. Nice...

G-10 Dragonfly may be the best all around pocket knife

Hi Folks, I want to put in my 2 cents worth on the Spyderco G10 Dragonfly. Before we go any farther, let me say I mean this as a perfect pocket knife that will be with you everyday, in the traditional sense. Today people like to use the term EDC and that can mean anything from a small 1 inch blade t...

What does she do with the knife? What do you expect it to be able to do? If we don't know where we're going, how can we expect to get there? :p She mostly carries it. She will use it to open things. But, it is handy to have if you have to cut yourself out of a seat belt. Plus, where we are currentl...

Do you feel you get adequate grip without the pinky magazine extension ? I do with mine. If you think about it, the old Colt single action forced most people to put their small finger under the bottom of the grip and no one ever complained. It shoots great in 9mm. I have a Hip Clip on mine and Lumi...
