persistence blade isn't whipping out no more.

Now I have to go through the whole motion of opening it or use the spyder drop. Any advice that can help me will be apprec...

Better screws, rougher texture on the G10, and a higher secondary grind. I don't think it should cost that much more to do those few changes.

I got my black G10 UKPK last month and love it. When I'm at work I carry my locking spydies. When I'm out and about everywhere else I carry my slipit. I don't have to worry about anything when I carry it in my front pocket. It's so discrete and light I almost forget that I have one.

I was wondering about the bevel because it looks a little shallow and uneven. Will the medium stones on the sharp maker even out the bevel or is there another method I could uses that could speed up the process?

My Persistence and sharp maker

Can anyone tell me why I'm not getting a hair popping edge on my persistence with the sharp maker? Do I need to send in my knife back to spyderco to sharpen? Any help or advice will be helpful.

Manix 2 lightweight

Does anyone own a Manix 2 lightweight? I would like to hear from you about the handle material and steel. Can this knife do some heavy cutting and can it be used as a workhorse. Is the blade retention good and is it easy to sharpen. I'm thinking about getting one but I want to hear from a couple of ...

Hey AngusW, I did like you said and went down to the local knife store and handle all three knives. The Caly 3.5 was light and thin with a good edge and it looks just like my UKPK. Based on looks I couldn't help wondering if I was going to snap that blade. The Sage 1 felt awesome and looked good in ...

Ok forum I spoke to my friend and explain to him what I did and apologized to him for taking advantage of him. I explained to him what kind of knife and steel he had verses the one I had. I offer to return it hair popping sharp and with a clip. He told me don't worry about we've been friend for 5 ye...

Just to let you know forum I will be getting a FFG blade of any of these 3. It seems that the caly 3.5 is winning so far. I'll check this post often and keep score. Thanks to all.

Am I a bad friend?

A buddy of mine came over to my house the other day while I was sharpening my native and told me he has one to but he lost the clip to it. He showed it to me and I notice his native was made of CPMS30V steel and mine was made of GIN1. He doesn't know anything about spyderco knifes so I told him I tr...

Re-profiling

When is it time to re-profile your spydie? I have a persistence that a always got a good edge on when sharpening, but lately i haven't been able to get it hair popping. What do you think forum? Should I send it to spyderco and let them do there thing, or is there something I can do.

I agree with tap78, I always try to clean my blade up after using it for a while. I also do a few passes on my pants during use to wipe off anything that might be hanging on my spydie. Thanks for everybody input on how they clean there knife.
