Actually talonturbo, I'd place the size closer to, but slightly smaller than, the Calypso Jr. It felt lighter than my Stretch, so I'd guesstimate the weight to be under 4oz, say perhaps 3.5 or so. Do wish someone lucky enough to snag a copy of the '05 catalog during its brief moment of availability...

Personally I don't see what al qaieda's attack on the WTC & Iraq have to do with each other - may as well ask the Pres. There is little or no proven connection. The US invasion of Iraq has less to do with Al-Qaeda than it does with the "War on Terror". Iraq is strategically vital in t...

Another vote for VG-10. It has proven to be easy to sharpen, holds a very keen edge and has shown no signs of having rust problems. My Golden S30V is more of an unknown quantity in that I have yet to have to sharpen it (then again, that may make it "more better" because of its edge-holding...

Movement away from "Little Big Knife"?

Hey all, been a while...

So, with the apparent success of the Monsterous Manix and the soon (?) to be released Bison, is Spyderco trending bigger?

Should they?

I say: Yes and yes! ;)

Sal, Sorry to read you are experiencing legal troubles. It would not surprise me to find Craftsman getting sued for manufacturing hammers. Seems to me that nearly any tool could be a deadly weapon when in the hands of one so inclined. Trial lawyers! My edc is between 3-4". Uses for my edc inclu...

Congrats, Alex!

Your skills at design and unique insights have been much appreciated over the 3K+ postings you've made. Here's to another 3K.

P.S. I'm with the rest of the crew on the desirability of the Wharnie version of the Jr. Hubba hubba!

What a diverse (and I mean that in the true, not P.C. way) crew we have here. Military service appears to be an underlying thread. Some may find my profession of investment management to be a bit of a yawn. But it is different every day. And who else can claim to farm bulls and slay bears on a daily...

Welcome to the forum Lady. I'd second Jimmy_Dean's Cricket recommendation. Of course, Delicas and Calypso Jr.s would probably fit the bill as well. Having said that, it has been my (fortunate) experience that garters are meant to be shown <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 ali...

Count me in with the minority "bigger --3.5-4"-- is better" crowd. The only thing which has stayed me from getting a Ronin, and only regret I have in the Yojimbo design, is a shared lack of size. Seems to me that a dedicated SD knife should be pushing the 4" zone. With regard to ...

Hey y'all (that's the Kentuckian version of Aloha), I also have been intrigued by the shape of the extinct -bird. I'd guess it cuts like a beast, especially for its size, but question its efficacy in a SD role. Because of the b...
