Re: About that food prep ...

Being French, I'm using opinel knives since decades and always liked how they slice. I was using them also for food prep but I was also using cheap kitchen knives (chef and santoku) that were thicker so this week, after saving money for a long time for better kitchen knives, I went with this set tha...

Re: Knife Knuts, Steel Junkies, and Mule...???

In France we have the word "pogonotome" for the one who pratice "pogonotomie". Pogonotomia is the art of shaving, from the Greek words πώγων pogon "beard" and τέμνω témno, to cut. I'm not a linguist and also not a native English speaker so I don't know if it's correct o...

Re: 3d printing Manix ball bearing cages

Considering how the cage looks like, you better have a very good layers adhesion if you will print it with an FDM 3D printer.
I would recommend PETG filament over PLA.

Re: High Performance Delica Excitement

I never owned a Delica so it could be the first one for me as I would really like to try K390 with an hollow ground blade...if only they would grind it higher that they usually doing it. It would be nice if they could do it like the southard, past the bottom of the spyder hole.

I would like to see a collab with Sacha Thiel (Perrin PPT)
Or with Emmanuel le Brun, maybe for a design "in between" his Kroko and his Rhino :

Re: Poll What’s your Mule future

Just the steels I want.

If I was living in USA, I would buy way more Mules but living abroad makes them quite expensive. In France we have to pay customs taxes and VAT over the total price (goods + shipping fees) + customs declaration fees.

Re: Resin 3d printed scales

Yes, it's better to use a resin printer in an enclosure with fumes extraction or in a garage. Cura doesn't manage supports for resin printers yet, Prusa Slicer does but I'm using Chitubox (I'm pretty new and maybe there is a "better" option).

so my guess is that MT30 will be Rex45.
If it will be, why would they delay to announce it since they know how to make this steel right ?

What else would you like to see in this area of the forum (specific to Mule Teams)? I would like to see more informations about future releases even if I understand that Spyderco needs to keep them until everything is set, but how to get an interest for mule #30 if we still don't know which steel i...

Re: I'm having an issue with US made Spydies

To think someone can put together and fit knives all day every day and only get the perfect amount of loctite on every screw means you aren't taking into account the imperfection in people. How about imperfection in knife design that need to be fix by the end user ? The Caly 3.5 ZDP-179/420J2 was d...

 Those are some serious chips... sure that Maxamet is the right steel for the tasks you need your knife for? (Honest question, never tried Maxamet myself) The bigger chip at the tip was from a coworker who used it as a screwdriver :o , so definitely an abuse but yes, I'm wondering the same. I ...

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

I'm thinking it's time to switch to k390, or rex45, or maybe 4v...something with some great edge stability that's less prone to chipping. Living in France, exclusives in 4V seems out of my reach at an "acceptable" price. Is there any model in the current catalog in 4V ? I don't remember t...
