You said it was aluminum first then stainless steel. If its aluminum it's worth a Pretty penny. Is its the ladder, it's just an old police. The aluminum handled ones are a rare sprint run.
Yes you can convert it to a SJ. You have to angle the notch in the blade where the lobkbar goes to a fairly shallow angle.
It's feasible but a lot easier to buy a UKPK, and then you have another knife in the collection.

I don't have a Junior but what I have heard of it is that it is made for EDC for younger people. It was designed essentially for "kids" hence then name Junior.
