With hardness testing, if there is not a good backup surface, the reading will be low. That's why for professional reporting the backside surface would need to be ground flat.

No, I think the purpose of the mule is to give a lot of people the ability to try out different steels with the same blade shape.

It may also be that the scrap rate is high. If the handle does not turn out, they have to throw it away.

I started out collecting all of the PM2 models. Once I bought my first CPM-M4 Manix, I sold all of my PM2's. The Manix just felt more solid in my hand.

I'll have to try the Titanium PM2 when it comes out though.

Pretty much why I'm stock piling cash and might just buy at least one of every sprint that cones out in a knife that I like. I figure I can always get what I paid back out later if I don't love it. I've missed quite a few and sorely regret it because I won't pay secondary market prices. I paid abou...

Right, so if the S110v at 34 had the same wear resistance as M4 at 26, but m4 was still more resistant to chipping then I would say M4 was still better.

I'll start by saying I'm a newbie and don't know squat.

In order to have a true comparison of cpm-m4 to s110v don't we have to include blade angle as a variable? For example, the tougher M4 allows smaller angles. The comparison should be optimized M4 vs optimized S110v.

I really like the Air as well. The opening and closing feel on this knife is the best in the Spyderco lineup for me.

I am hoping Mr. Bradley will scale up the Air design somwhere between the other 2.

Lets look at it this way...The Para 2 in all versions of standard production flavor are out of stock and have been pretty much for the least 3 years. The combination of knife and steel on this particular knife is going to be so hot that even if it is a standard production knife, it's pretty much gu...
