I was wondering if S90V good for foodprep? I am carrying my Drunken today and realized that the blade shape would be perfect for cutting food. Ergonomics and bladeshape are great for cutting on a cutting board. Would S90V be ok? The better question is whether or not the drunken is ok. Th...

Re: Micro Serrations

I also depends what kind of steel you use. A steel with a lot of carbides performs most of the time better with a coarse finish. I believe Scienceofsharp.com has a nice article about it.

Re: Can some steels be bad for our health ?

The inhalation issue is more for miners or people in an industrial setting using grinders. If you're going to take a powered sharpening system to a blade, you should probably use a respirator, but I doubt you'll be making significant amounts of airborne dust with stones or strops. That's a good rul...

Blacken screws and clip

I’m planning to do a blade swap on my Para3 LW. Probably putting the black dlc CPM-M4 blade on it. To get a fully black knife I have to blacken the screws and pocket clip.

Does anyone have an idea how to do this?

Re: Classic Spyderco Folders In Larger Or Smaller Scale

A Mini Para3 LW!! Yesterday I made a plastic/foam Para3 for my 2 year old son. It should be a 1:1 scale version but it came smaller out of the printer. Turned out it is an awesome edc sized blade for me. I know it’s not for everyone but which knife is?! I really like the size. It is a 3 finger grip....

Re: Which steel has impressed you lately?

K390 really impressed me. After 2 weeks of continuously using it on my job (cutting cardboard) and using for home chores it is still slicing paper with ease. It takes a aggressive edge. Much more than M4 and is just as easy to touch up. I have no problems with rust or patina. I put some Ballistol oi...

Bonus fact for those who may not know, the little triangle in the head area is also the end of a Sharpmaker rod.
Indeed! Really cool. Did not know that!
