Re: MT40P – HIC Mule Team Dropping Soon!

Hey Mike, I am looking forward to hearing Jay Ward's opinions, even though you have said that he doesn't like me or Spyderco. I have already been impressed with some of the results our forumites have shared here. They were able to get better results that we have, so it's win/win for the use of and m...

Re: The best "worst" serrated knives I have ever owned.

Hey, Mike, No problem. But you did come on to my forum and tell me that I have the worst serrations? I have been studying and promoting serrated edges for the past 45 years. I believe, and it is just my opinion, but I believe that I have the best solution for maintaining serrated edges and getting t...

Re: MT40P – HIC Mule Team Dropping Soon!

Hi Mike, We purchased our CATRA more than 20 year ago and it gets constant use. I personally went to Sheffield and worked with the company since. We have rebuilt it twice, changed our test mules once and retested everything a second time with the new test mules. I would say that we have far more expe...

Re: The best "worst" serrated knives I have ever owned.

Hi Mike, I began studying serrations both testing and working with microscopes in 1975. I invented a sharpener capable of sharpening serrations and produced it in 1978 along with a multitude of serrated knives in 1982. I have worked with them continuously since. In my opinion, the fastest way to rui...

Re: Upping the price.

I paid $16 for my Buck 110. I Bought it when they first came out. Most thought I was nuts for paying that much for a knife. I guess that shows how old I am. Buck is a good American company. Still family owned. We're proud to have them as competition.

Re: Upping the price.

I guess we could lower our prices; We could pay our crew less, take away their benefits, drop CQI, eliminate the Mule team project, stop supporting our Troops, Law enforcement, First Responders, our community. Stop printing catalogs, use cheaper materials and reduce our tolerances. Eliminate bonus's...

Re: AI art knows Spyderco

Interesting. Gail showed me AI generated photos of President Trump and President Biden being good friends. Sitting together, shaking hands, etc. It sure looked real? Sure makes me suspect AI being honest and truthful..............ever? These days, manipulation and selected information over the popul...

It's just my opinion, but Carbon Fiber and S90V is a very special combination.

Hi Bernhard, Welcome to our forum. Getting our knives into European countries always presented challenges, though there are a few sources. One of our regulars here is from Austria and perhaps he will chime in with more information on availability? Left handed specific models are not always available...

Hi Mike, I'm not sure what you are trying to say. I believe that most here respect Larrin and appreciate the work that he has done. He has shared his research and thoughts with us quite a bit, which we appreciate. He created an exceptional steel which demonstrates understanding and innovation. Larri...

Re: "Delica" the Tip of a Mule 2?

Hi Mike,

Mules are sold consumer direct to keep the price down. So there are no distributors for the Mules. We've not yet made a serrated Mule in SPY27, but have one planned.

We have many SPY27 models in the field with more being added often.

That would really be challenging to do in any production setting. Trying to guess how many we would need is not possible.

Re: "Delica" the Tip of a Mule 2?

Hi Bolster,

I've been using a SPY27 Mule daily for a multitude of tasks. I think the steel will handle the tip as it comes. Just don't pry or stab concrete. I sharpen it on a 20, 30, and a few strokes of 40. It's held up just fine. Sort of a Hamaguri.
