Re: Province edge angle

Hi Kgasp,

It's too thick of an edge to be really sharp. I might add, though I dn't know your skill levels, that there are very few that can improve on our factory edges.

Re: Please Help With Spyderco Knife ID

Hi John.

The "Q" project was one of mine that most folks thought I was nuts to create. In fact when the model won a Blade magazine award, one of our competitors said; "It wasn't a real knife and will go nowhere".

Re: Province edge angle

Hi Kristian, Convex edges work best when the entire grind is convex from the spine to the edge. This creates a very thin edge and very little friction at any point along the grind. Convexing the very edge on a flat ground knife, in my opinion, offers no advantage and has for a few disadvantages. sal

Re: Let's take a look inside my Police 4

We found that galvanic corrosion pops up in places not expected. We're still experimenting. Material, heat treat, other metals in close proximity or touching. All areas in question.

Hey Vivi, I've been carrying the new FRN / VG-10 model in Hawaii for about a week with no issues.

Re: Province edge angle

Hi Kgasp, Welcome to our forum and thanx for the support. On the edge, I'd suggest leaving it alone and use it as is before sharpening on a motorized sharpener. You can always mess with the edge later when it needs sharpening. No sense in grinding away edge when you don't have to. Also, in my opinio...

Re: C16 Wayne Goddard family almost complete

Hi NateWatt,

Welcome to our forum. I know it's a 12 year old thread, but some FYI. I think we've done more variations of Wayne's model than any other, and Felly has proven to be exceptional when it comes to finding and getting Spyderco models.

It's still in the plan. We are doing quite a bit these days so some things just take longer. Our maker in Seki has worked with LC and has no problems.

Re: Ladybug VG10 FFG

Hi T-Mac,

The Ladybug is pretty thin stock for a FFG for the masses, in my opinion. I designed the Manbug with a thicker stock to be the FFG Ladybug. ZDP is an exception, but, again, in my opinion, folks buying ZDP are more conscious of the limitations.

It's an interesting design that had been refined for hundreds of years in Zambia. It's a simple "stick" handle, but it works very well and it's not as simple as it looks to be.
