We always are watching, planning and inventing. We just got another patent on a new lock (Roto-Wedge).

Re: Damasteel UK Penknife UKPK - DAMASTEEL PATTERN

We're in communication with Per, (Owner of Damasteel) and he says the raw material for the DC material is 50% - *80% more expensive than their most popular DS93X. We're waiting on lead time info.

H Sharkfisher,

Welcome to our forum.

Can you give me more input as to where the rust is? Can we get the knife back and send you a new one for R & D.

Seems like quite a few companies are jumping on the Axis design.

Re: Damasteel UK Penknife UKPK - DAMASTEEL PATTERN

the original request was for "Damascus". I moved the discussion to "Damasteel", because it was readily available, atainless and easier to work with. The request was for the "look". Vanax is about 4 times more expensive than S90V and we seem to be having a problem getting a sample to test, besides th...

H TSINGA ,

Welcome to our forum.

The blade and lock are H-1. The other components are a mix of corrosion free materials.

Hi Lucabrasi,

Hogue makes good knives and Allen is a brilliant designer.

Is that an Axis?

Re: Spyderco coffee mug

We're working on two. The first one will be very much like the original 12 oz coffee mugs we made years ago. The second one is an oddball and I can't say anything about it.

Both will more than likely be consumer direct to keep the cost down. Then we'll go from there.

Re: Damasteel UK Penknife UKPK - DAMASTEEL PATTERN

Hi David, Thanx for doing this. I like to get all of the input I can when trying to create a design that the Afi's are requesting. Were checking the cost difference in the difference steels. It is my guess that the DC18, requiring Vanax in the mix, will be more costly and harder and take longer to g...

Re: Sage 5 Lightweight

HI CG, I'd like to take a look at that poll if you know where it is. The Sage Lt Wt was a it of an experiment and a deviation from the project because we felt that the design wss worthy and would be accepted even in an FRN construction, especially at a lower cost. If we find that it is well received...

Hi JMM,

It depends on demand. Eric is certainly capable of designing one. The Lt wt Tenacious is still new. Need to watch for a while.

Re: Tenacious Lightweight does it for me

Thanx Carrot.

Eric worked on that project for a long time, both with the knife maker and the plastics maker. I think they all did an exceptional job. Now he's working on updated steels with the maker.

Re: Damascus UK Penknife UKPK - HANDLE OPTIONS

I think the main difference is in dollars spent. SDG want a more exotic/expensive piece and SF is trying to keep it elegant, yet affordable.

Hey Guy, perhaps the blade is the art and the handle is the frame, not to "upstage" the blade?
