Re: Reverse Grip Edge In, folder deployment

Hi DD,

The John D'Allara model works well. It was the model that I used on developing the P'Kal folder.

Re: Sharpmaker Rods

Hi FLHTK, Welcome to our forum Your request is a bit more complicated than it might seem. The Alumina particles, as I understand, used on the rods are generally 15 -20 microns. The different grits for fine and medium are attained by firing processes, not micron size. The CBN and diamonds used are 40...

Re: Taking apart knives - part 2

We haven't used red for quite a while. Most of our knives are screw construction. But not everyone wants screw construction so we try to make enough variety to serve our broad range of customers.

Try to keep in mind that we are smart, knowledgeable and a family. Like brothers, it's ok to disagree and discuss.

Re: Im keeping my enduras. No to the police 4

Hi Kenbo, Japanese G-10 hasn't been a solution. Availability was limited and cost was very high. Chinese G-10 was available, but quality was lower and is complicated by counterfeiting. It's something w're always working on. As mentioned, current solution is FRN in Seki. That's why there is no G-10 E...

Re: Im keeping my enduras. No to the police 4

In this case don't make comparisons to US made knives and don't make steel comparisons. That is missing the point which is that for some unexplained reason Japanese G10 is super expensive. It is simple, there has been a clear history of the Seki City knives that use G10 being very expensive while t...

Re: Spyderco Amsterdam Meet 2019 Report

Thanx Warstein, I must admit that i share your thoughts and values on edge sizes. When I carry a smaller knife, like Manbug, it's usually backup so I don't have to pull out a larger model in public. m My personal preference is for the FRN P4, but I have to be careful where i carry it and use it. sal

Re: Spyderco Amsterdam Meet 2019 Report

Hi Warstein, Lock types make a big difference in that space between the edge and the front of the handle. Plus there are also many other factors that influence. The "Rock Jumper" model (not out yet) does address this concept in another way. Models like the Caribbean bring the edge to the handle bec...

Re: Yojimbo Love?

Hi Blueeye, I sure like my Carbon Fiber S90V version :D As to "Other Warncliffe's" While Mike is an advocate of the Warnie shape, his designs are far more than "just another Warnie". I'm sure Mike is following this thread, so this is the place to share thoughts with him on your preferences. sal

Re: Yojimbo Love?

Time and use is usually what refines a design to warrant an "upgrade". Mike had a lot of time between the Yo and the Yo 2 to see what he would change. I will say that Mike is always working on designs, and I don't want to say more than that. But as mentioned, what would you want to see in a "3" vers...
