Re: Lanskey sharpener

Any of the forum members ever use a lansky sharpening stone? Any good ?.... I bought a Lansky Diamond set decades ago to sharpen my MISSION titanium knives and also use the sharpening kit for other knives. I have years of experience with the Lansky and the kit is ecxellent - go ahead and buy one, i...

Re: Pakistani knives sold as USA-made customs?

They knives all look horrible and certainly do look akin to the Pakistani ones, we have seen over and over again. Especially the 'crapmascus' ones. Fodder for the easily impressionable no clue buyers. Seller blurb sounds like it was taken from the usual scammer playbook. Quite a coincidence in regar...

Re: Spyderco Hatchet

In regards to the marks on the hatchet, I dont know what they are in this case but its not unusual for tools to be sold with the hardness testing marks. Ive seen quality German knives with the hardness testing mark and a peel off label pointing to it and explaining what it is hence not something 'wh...

Re: David Boye Cobalt Knives: any thoughts?

Later that evening I put the Boye to work in the kitchen, slicing tomatoes, onions, beef, and lettuce. It didn't do too bad at all, even without resharpening. After I touched it up on the Sharpmaker (5 or 10 strokes per side), it was extremely aggressive and sliced with ease despite the thickish sa...

Thanks SpyderScout! Have you noticed any type of edge damage from cutting hard materials like wood?
No damage, as far as I can tell but I havent cut much wood with it. Mostly line, cord, rope etc, food prep etc.

Maybe 'stone tumbled' is the correct term …

Yes, buying a tumbler is the way ahead. If something messes up SWMBOs appliances, youll be sleeping on the couch!
I like a satin finish on a knife and clip as well.

Re: Post up your Rit dye projects..

Hello! I'm brand new here and I have a quick question about using Rit Dye as this thread seemed to be the most appropriate. Has anyone ever tried using Tan Rit Dye? The reason why I'm asking is I'm thinking about trying it out on my gray Endura 4, but I've yet to find an example of someone using th...

Re: Sand Washed Blade?

As you also mention, there can be certain issues with sand blasting but you also touched upon a stone washed finish - why dont you go in that direction? There are several tutorials on YT but basically its finding some nice stones, put them and the item to be stone washed in a (plastic) container, ti...

52100 is hardly esoteric.
The video is by 'bluntcut.' Using him as a reference is neither there nor there in regards to Spyderco knives. I suspect, you dont know about him.
Three words: 'chrystal weaving foundation.'

Re: G10 UKPK officially makes a return! Heinnie Haynes Exclusive

The UKPK rocks. When ever I travel to Germany, I carry my UKPK, as these are legal to carry there (also on occasion a 12cm fixed blade, as they are legal to EDC). I only have the most humble version of the UKPK - the FRN/BD1 - but to my surprise it punches way above its weight. I like the knife out ...

I'm looking for portable stuff by the way. No dust collecting sculptures or so... ;) Useful things made out of this fantastic material called titanium.
In that case; Heavy Cover canteen. I can heartedly recommend.

Probably the size of a Claymore (the sword, not the anti personel mine) :)
Sounds like a basket case ;)

Re: If only Global used better steel...

Im not a fan of Global knives. Ergonomics are bad and they dont appeal to me personally. I find them downright ugly. Besides every Tom, Dich and Harry has them. There are also a slew of fakes out there, as the knives for some reason has broad appeal. What the OP calls 'progressive design,' I call fo...

I dont like the jade handles but after seeing this might even buy a jade handled knife, if its in a steel I really want. Then Id just dye the scales.

If it's smaller it would be more appropriate to call it the 200 pacer :)
I have it on good scientific authority*, that the smaller ones are more poionous ergo it should be the 50 Pacer.

Re: The best belt I have ever had

Ive got several custom ordered (curved) leather belts. Also made several leather belts myself. Never wear any of them any more and havent for years.

Best belt I ever wore (and still wear) is the 5.11 TDU belt.
Can be had in single or double layer and several colors.
