Don't look any harder. I won't. I've stood in the cleanser and polish isle of every store I can drive to.

I've been able to purchase BKF at both Publix (right next to Ajax, Bon Ami, Comet, etc.) and Lowes if that helps. Not sure where in the panhandle you are located but hopefully one of the two ...

Prior posts addressing the issue indicated that the notches are from the cutting of the liner from the metal sheet by the laser.

My guess is that the spring is not likely the problem. Based on my experience, what you may be dealing with is friction between the G-10 scales and the polymer cage. As suggested, this should decrease overtime with use. You could to try using a dry lube where the cage interfaces the handle cut out ...
