Re: Salt vs Salt 2

I carry a Salt 2 IWB (at 1:00) on a regular basis, often for extended hours sitting in a kayak, and it has been completely comfortable for me. I’m guessing OP carries his perfectly vertical not slanted, and probably at 3 or 4 o’clock. In that format, the flat butt of Salt1 handle is more comfortabl...

Re: Salt vs Salt 2

Thanks guys! I'm torn because I have a fairly "meaty" hand (thick fingers) so I wouldn't mind the longer handle of the Salt 2 but I find most knives with rounded (I call it pointy because starts jabbing into me by the end of the day) handles uncomfortable to carry IWB which is how I carry...

Re: Choil-less Spyderco Knives

Centofante doesn’t have the internal stop pin, so if the closed blade spine is pressed, it will yield a bit until some part (edge?) hits the backspacer. It won’t happen on an Endura.

Cold steel uses additional stop pin (check Nick’s disassembly of Broken Skull). I think this is a good solution.

Re: Loosen stiff CC2 & ML2?

So, I took my cara cara2 apart... that was a mistake. Took me a long while to figure out how to assemble the spring under tension. Although, after getting it back together- it was a lot smoother. I won’t that mistake with my new rescue2- it will just have to have a stiff action https://i.imgur.com/...

Thank you Chad, for excellent response. There are conflicting accounts on human role in the climate change. It depend who makes the report you read. https://sg.news.yahoo.com/teachers-grapple-climate-change-pretty-scary-topic-044149949.html I think digging into the facts are important to have better...

The pivot screws stand a little proud on some of them so the hole is needed for clearance.

It also allows for easy pivot adjustment while the clip is mounted tip down.
Must be the reason P4 has this clip configuration.

Re: Replaceable blade folding mule

Spyderco can sell the blade & mated lockbar as a pair for lockback. It is easy to swapt and tolerances will not be an issue. They can also sell it as a pair of slipjoint version as a slipjoint is actually lockback with the back of mating notch ground off. Or locking version with tiny hole (non O...

Re: New Tenacious - Help Needed with Loosening the Pivot Screw

When the tap, press firmly and twist didn’t work, I use soldering iron on the Cara Cara 2 Stainless handle clip screws, but still cannot. Put it on them for a long time, no joy. Tenacious should be from different maker, so I cannot comment. Just saying soldering iron doesn’t always work. https://for...
