I thought I read somewhere that Spyderco always keeps the #001 of any special run in-house. There's one right now on eBay(CF Police),but the seller looks like a regular Joe. Any truth that Spydie keeps all of these?

Interesting. Can't see my hands as being the reason the used one looks good,the entire surface of the handles is black. Does the drying out of the handles weaken them in any way?

I've got these two G-10 handled knives;a C19 and a Benchmade AFCK. Both are NIB,never carried/used,haven't been displayed,etc. But both their handles have turned a sliver/grey color. What's weird is I have a second AFCK of the same model(prolly same year as well) that has been carried and used,but ...

Both my steriles have the 06/11/02 date,so maybe that's the magic day. Google says the change to S30V was the '03 model year,so it would seem the steriles are 440v.

At least the hole isn't round. I've got one of his other Ka-Bar folders. They're nice knives for the price.

Either in a belt pouch or in watch pocket w/a carbiner clipped to the nearest belt loop.

Almost forgot;Wenger makes a couple models that have a folding carbiner built in. I occationally carry one called the Zermatt that has this.

PE Delica FRN. Got it in a lot w/out a clip. It opens my mail,cuts food,etc.

Just picked up a Kestrel off eBay(someone had 3 of them). Nice,but I wish the handle were a tad longer.

There's an auto Amphibian on eBay right now,and I've seen a couple regulars before. Might want to poke around.

Someone posted a pic once of a Police model like that;the serrations were out toward the tip. Victorinox currently makes a knife like this:the One-Handed Trailmaster. The first 1/3 is plain,the rest serrated. Just to make the knife even odder,the liner lock is also set up for lefties.

Gotta wonder what they were thinking. I got a Baby Goddard out of a lot of 10 Spydies for $190. That means I only paid $19 for mine. :-)

I too was surprised by the lack of kick(choil,whatever) on my Cento III. You just gotta be careful with it.
